Manifestation of the anointing

Synopsis of Bible study 04/13/16

Delivered by Bishop Walker III

Jesus had said for disciples to get into position, because He was going to give them the power of the Holy Spirit, so that they could fulfil their assignments. Know that it is the anointing that allows us the ability to fulfil our assignments with greater power and greater authority.

Matthew 28:18-19 (NKJV) says 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, – The anointing always matches the assignment (or your calling). The greater the assignment, the greater the anointing.

Manifestation is the source of the anointing. There is a continuous flow of the anointing in the lives of those who know how to do assignment.

The anointing is not there for a moment. It is there anytime you need it. James 5:14 (NKJV) says 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.- When a person is sick, they couldn’t call on a Elder if the anointing wasn’t already on them. The anointing is always present.

Mark 6:13 (NKJV) says 13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.– In this scripture, we see that the Lord gave them anointing, to cast out demons.

Mark 16:16-18 (NKJV) says 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[a] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”- When anointing is on you, at anytime you may be able to stand against the enemy.

The anointing causes things to grow and increase

  1. Psalm 23:5 (NKJV) says You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. – The direct result of the anointing is this: God anoints your head with oil and immediately you walk into another dimension.
  2. Psalm 1:3 (NKJV) says He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. – The scripture starts out by saying, “… like a tree planted by rivers of water”. Simply put, the anointing is represented by The tree is planted by the rivers of water. Water flows and as a result, the tree flourishes. The anointing does the same thing. Anointing flows to those who are planted where the anointing is. It is impossible to die and wither in the anointing.

You got to learn to operate in the fullness of the anointing

  1. Luke 4:18 (NKJV) says 18 “The Spirit of the Lord isupon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,[a] To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; – Here Jesus is quoting Isaiah. Jesus clearly lays out his mission statement. He explains that he came to preach, heal, liberate, and restore. In short he explained that he came to do what he was called to do.
  2. According to Luke 2:52 (NKJV) , it says 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.- Jesus lived in the house of his mother (covered) until it was time for him to walk out into the fullness of his anointing. Jesus was born anointed, but he didn’t operate in ministry until he was 30 yrs old.
    1. Why is this? Because he was in the house developing, preparing, and growing until his anointing and assignment aligned together.
  3. There are certain things you are asking God to do for you. It is not that you aren’t anointed for it, you instead are not prepared for it yet. As a result, God puts you on hold and gives you preparatory experience, so you will be ready when He is ready for you to do it. There are some things you asked God for, that God didn’t give you. He didn’t give them to you because your anointing was bigger than the assignment.
    1. The worst thing that can happen to an anointed person is for them to have a big anointing while operating in a small assignment. Never downsize your anointing, just to fit somewhere you want to go.
    2. Some of you better thank God that he told you no. Why would God say no? – It is because you are anointed to do big stuff. You got to be willing to say, “However long it takes, I always want my anointing and my assignment to line up”.

The anointing on your life must remain fresh

Psalm 92:10 (NKJV) says 10 But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.- Those of us who grew up with grease on the stove for 2 wks have a greater appreciation for fresh oil. That grease that stayed on the stove was reused over and over to cook different things. Eventually, things would not taste as good, because the grease had gotten used so many times. This is why we need a fresh anointing.  A fresh anointing allows you to operate at optimum capacity. Every day you wake up, you ought to say, “Lord, touch me again with a fresh anointing”.

There were different manifestations of the anointing:

There can be no anointing where there is no Holy Spirit. When you were saved, you received the Holy Spirit, but you just haven’t allowed Him to operate at optimum capacity. The Holy Spirit is inside you.

  1. At Pentecost, everyone was filled. – When the Holy Spirit had come on the day of Pentecost, things happened. Everyone experienced it. Those that didn’t act in it, witnessed it.
  2. Divided tongues sat upon each of them. – The Heavenly Language has been something that has been controversial among the saints. The heavenly language should not be mistaken with the gift of tongues, though in its manifestation, may sound like it (for some). The anointing allows you to tap into your heavenly language.
    1. Your attacks are going to be in direct proportion to your assignment. The greater your assignment the greater the attack. Now based on the demons, witches, and warlocks that have been coming at you, you have to learn to take your prayer to another dimension (heavenly language or praying in the spirit).
    2. Some people can’t handle this concept, because your mind is larger than your spirit. When you pray in your understanding the devil can intercept you prayers. When you pray in your unknown language (heavenly language), not the gift of tongues, your prayers go to another level. As a result, when you pray, your prayers are encrypted and the enemy can’t intercept it. You have to let the Holy Spirit have complete control over you for this language to occur. This heavenly language is much like Hannah who had been praying so hard in the temple that the priest thought she was drunk.
    3. The bible says the Holy Spirit interprets your groans and your moans. Again we are not talking about tongues as in the gift. We are still talking about your heavenly language.
  3. Everyone saw it. You can’t have manifestation of the Holy Spirit in a place without everyone seeing it. When the Holy Spirit falls on a place, everyone sees it. People don’t have to like you, but they can’t deny that you are anointed. They can see it.
    1. How many of you would know somebody was high or drunk if they walked into the room? It is the same with someone anointed. When you are anointed, you walk into a place and people can tell that there is something different about you. There is an anointing on your life.
    2. How do you know that they can tell? It is because they often will say that there is something different about you. They will invite everyone to the office party and never ask you, because they assume you wouldn’t go anyway. Demons know who you are when you walk in. Your anointing intimidates them.

The anointing can happen in many ways:

  1. By Baptism – Baptism doesn’t save you. It is just an outside showing of what has already taken place within your heart. To prove it, consider this: When Jesus and the two thieves were on the cross, Jesus told the one thief, “…This day you will be with me in paradise…” He was never baptized, but because he confessed his sins and acknowledged Jesus as Christ our Lord, he was saved. Being saved is about a new life experience.
  2. By hearing an anointed message. This is why you got to be careful where you speak spiritually. Acts 10:45 (NKJV) says 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.- God can release a corporate anointing. He can release a word of a debt free anointing, of healing, or whatever you need. This is why it is important to come to church.
    1. The anointing flows down. This is why you got to be careful who you sit under as your Pastor. You got to make sure you know what you are standing under. Anointing will flow down, so he or she themselves must be anointed.
  3. Through being anointed by the man or woman of God- This can be done by the laying of hands on you. 1 Samuel 16:13a (NKJV) says 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah. – In the Old Testament, when the anointing was released, there was a “laying on of hands”. This was usually done by the prophet. It was a transfer of It flowed and was transferred by a person.
    1. In the New Testament, the anointing has already come. The Holy Ghost has already come (on the day of Pentecost) and He lives inside of you, so when someone lays hands on you, they are just bringing out the anointing that is already in you.
    2. Peter quoted Joel 2:27-29 (NKJV) where it says 27 Then you shall know that I amin the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. God’s Spirit Poured Out 28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.- Basically, this scripture is saying the following is going to happen:

Our sons and daughters will speak a word, old people will dream dreams, visions will come to fruition, and as a result, and the Word of God comes forth. Now under the anointing in New Testament, hands are not laid on you to give you anointing, because you already have it. Hands are laid on you to release word, dreams, and visions.

In closing, Bishop Walker shared that there were several times that people laid hands on him during his Ministry. When he was licensed as a Minister, when he was ordained, when he was consecrated as Bishop, and when he was inaugurated as Presiding Bishop. Each time, the same thing happened. He was told to kneel down and men and woman of God came and laid hands on him. While doing so, they were praying that he would get his anointing to match the assignment to where God was taking him. In other words, they were not praying for his right now, but instead, his not yet!

Know that because you are anointed, God is about to fast-track some stuff for you!

Know that because you are anointed, God is about to fast-track some stuff for you!anointinganointing
