Living the Life Part II

THE PURPOSED LIFE

Synopsis of 01/11/12

Delivered by Bishop Walker III

Each of us know we are here for our purpose. Knowing this, every move you make should be an intentional move. God doesn’t move arbitrarily and since he doesn’t, we must always act based on our purpose. The question is, how do we accomplish this? It is by the power of being properly developed and maturing in wisdom.

What is Wisdom?

Mental intellectual perspective- SOPHIA- This is the practical ability to sense and understand life in all relations and situations- In other words, we see moments in our lives as individual events attached to purpose. Everything has a place when you are a person who walks in purpose

When you dont walk in wisdom, you do things off the cuff. The way you act can adversely affect what God has for your life. Ex- Somebody gets under your skin and you act in that moment. You do something not realizing that this moment can impact what God has intended for your life. Think of the people that are in the grave or in jail right now that allowed one act to keep them from where they were supposed to be. A person that doesn’t understand purpose doesn’t understand how their actions can impact their purpose.

Show a person their purpose and they will be willing to live and die for it.

No matter how many degrees you have or how many books you have read, there are some people with smarts, but no common sense.

How do I attain wisdom?

It is a Gift from God- James 1:5:5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him. –The scripture says if you lack wisdom, you can just ask God for it. Wisdom can only be given by God in the way that you need it. Look at Joseph. He went from the pit to the palace. Joseph wouldnt give in to the moment, because he knew this would have cost him what God had intended to do in his life.

By personal experiences- Some of you have been made wise by your mistakes. Life can give you wisdom.

Traditions of our fathers and mothers. Job 8:8:8“For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself for the searching of their fathers;-There are things that previous generations could teach you, because they have gotten through certain things.

Learn wisdom .Proverbs 4:11:11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.-God taught us how to be wise. Proverbs 9:9-10: 9Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. –The more you teach a wise man, the more he will want to know. Proverbs 13:20: 20He that walketh with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.-You cannot hang out with some people. There are some people you can be cool with, but you can’t hang out with them. The reason some people miss their purpose is, because they have too much allegiance to people that have no regard to your purpose. Ex- Bishop has friends all over the world. He explains that he has some that are good Christians and some that are not. As an example, he explains that he has a friend named Tyrone (made up name). He explains that he has known him for a while. Tyrone is not living a saved life and just because Bishop is in Ministry and Tyrone is still out there, Bishop still recognizes him as his boy. Bishop explains that he doesn’t know what he does for a living. All he knows is that he is just cool. Bishop will play ball with him or even talk to him on the phone, but if Tyron asks him to come over to his house, Bishop will decline. Bishop further states that he will not allow him to come to his house either. Bishop will only meet him in public places. Why is this? Say they are watching the game at Tyrone’s house and the Feds come and kick the door in. Now they have Bishop outside on the ground with the rest of them and the whole world thinks he is a drug dealer. People would comment, “So that’s how ya’ll (Mt Zion) was able to build all of this.” If you act in the moment, you will jump into the car with anybody and end up an accessory to something. Some people you just can’t hang around.

When “I was a child…” is referring to us. You got to teach kids when they are young. Proverbs 29:15: 15The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.- Bishop is the Pastor of Mt Zion today, be is a product of rod and rebuke.

Everything is connected to everything else. Everybody you give number to and every one you want to be seen without, can keep you from getting where God connected you.

Stature and physical maturity

HELIKIA- Primarily an age as a certain length of life as of age. The bible says we will live 3 score and 10. A score is 20 and you add ten to it, the average is 70. Knowing this, we don’t have time to waste

Age does not qualify you for maturity. Just because you move up in numbers, it doesn’t validate your maturity.

Read Ephesians 4:11-16 later. You will learn that God gave us prophets and evangelists for the maturing of the body of Christ. Every week you have a Pastor that comes and gives you the word. (It is important to know that the place call your church home is the place you should be gettting fed. What you stand under, is what you understand) you Pastor is like somebody that is trying to get you to grow up. Just like this, when your parents say clean up or finish your plate, they are preparing you and they measure your maturity by your willingness to abide. You are teaching them certain things to place value in them and create maturity. 1 Corinthians 13:11:11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.-This scripture says, when I was child, what came out of my mouth was childish, because I was immature.

How do you talk to a child? You get on a child’s level. The child doesn’t have the capacity to understand adult things. God says he can’t bless children with things intended for adults. You have to mature to the thing you want. Ex- You are mature. You know that other you may be talking to may have great potential, but they don’t have the capacity to understand. The things that come out their mouths doesn’t make since, because they are immature. Remember you are talking to a child prisoner in an adult’s body. This is why you have to mature in God’s word.

Immaturity is trying to make something fit that you have outgrown. You look at your awesome purpose and the things and people around you and you wonder if it fits where you’re going. If it doesn’t fit, dont force it. Relax and let it go. Ex- If I am a child, I don’t know it doesn’t fit. When you don’t see purpose, you don’t know that the person on your arm doesn’t fit? You think you are happy. We think that you are in a relationship where one person doesn’t belong with the other.

When we get to this place, where things begin to fit, we are not going to be 16 yrs old still riding the big wheel. Having said this, we are not going to be a person in church all this long and still playing games. At some point you got to grow up.

Favor with God spiritually-

When you understand wisdom spiritually, it puts you in the category with exceedingly abundantly. In this season, favor will be attracted to some of you, because you walk in wisdom. If you mature in God’s word, you will attract favor to your life.

The connection is understanding the will of God.

What is his will? BOULEMA-God’s immutable irrevocable will is immutable which means unchanging. When- God says when he proposes to do something in your life, nothing can change it.

One of the most prolific statements that have been made is, “What God has for me, it’s for me.” In earnest it is true, but let’s examine it practically.

God created this for you for example: Abram has Isaac and he has Jacob and Esau. Esau is the first born and is supposed to have the blessing and the birthright. Out in the field one day Esau is hungry. He has now detached himself from his purpose. Now he just wants to fulfill the desires of his flesh. Jacob offers him a bowl of soup in exchange for his birth right. As a result, today the scripture reads “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob…” instead of the father of Abraham, Isaac, and Esau. The bible says Jesus comes from the linage of Jacob. It should have been the linage of Esau. Esau forfeited all of that for the bowl of soup. The devil can’t take it, but he can create enough distraction that you will give it up to somebody else. As a result of your distraction, somebody may live in your house instead of you or somebody might raise your children instead of you. Somebody else will be the benefactor of your foolishness, because of one distraction. Say to your neighbor, “You are not getting mines.” Just to think, we have always said, “What God has for me is for me.

John 10:10:10The thief cometh not but to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.-God wants you to have the God kind of life.

His will deals with your heart-Matthew 22:37: 37Jesus said unto him, “`Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.’- Your mind is your inner thoughts and the value system of your life. It is the port of entry into the heart.

Intellect, emotion, and Will

Commander and chief – God is our commander and chief

General- Our thinking process, strategy works out specifics. God speaks to you and you say you’re going to do it.

Lieutenant- Our will- You can strategize all day, but if you don’t follow the orders… Your will follows it.

Surrender is necessary- Nobody gives their will away. You have to learn to surrender it.

There are things that God wants you to do, but it is not clear. It gets clearer when you surrender and get into position.

Surrender:

Brightens your vision.

Enlarges perception of your responsibilities- Some perspectives are so small, you are not understanding what happened.

3.Increases strength and insight

4Opens doors to new solutions.

7 ways to be sure you are in God’s will:

Get into the word- Let’s it speak to me- God will give your confirmation or tell you that you are wrong.

Prayer

Overcome self-Realize your worth.

Partners in fellowship with God- We want to partner with what God he is doing.

Commitment- Some people don’t get what God has, because they don’t have commitment.

7 steps to success

1, Dream- Got to be a person that knows how to dream. When you dream, you don’t take in consideration your current context. When you’re a dreamer, dream around mature people. Remember however that children dream too.

2. Desire- Don’t pursue something that you don’t desire. Whatever you do, have the desire to do it, because God gives you the desires of your heart.

3. Decision- God makes decisions of what you are to do. Colossians 1:9:9For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;-In other words, eventually you have to do what he wants you to do.

Dare- I dare you to do something poeple say can’t be done. Failure is inevitable. In fact, Bishop is working on sermon right now that says, “I hope you fail.” Ex- Babe Ruth held the strikeout record in his first year of baseball. He is known later as the homerun king. He kept on working at it. Study people that have done great things and they will all tell you they failed many times, before obtaining success.

Do it – Do something- Every time we see you, you ought to be doing somethig. Sharpen a pencil or glue something up or something. Don’t just be sitting around.

Direction- Every time we see you, you ought to be headed in that direction. If you know someone is going toMemphisand you pass them speeding and heading in the wrong direction, you might try and call them to say, “Man you are going fast the wrong way!” This is how we are seeing you. We know you supposed to be going one way and we wonder why you going to fast the wrong way. If you don’t listen and turn aorund you are going to be in the mountains. When you see sombody not doing what they should, sayMemphisis the other way.

Devotion dedication- If you’re going to be successful, do it with a spirit of excellence- We don’t produce raggedy production. What we do for God, we want to be done in the spirit of excellence. We not going to trust in our power, but God’s power. Proverbs 3:5-6:5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding; 6in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. -Everyone here has a purpose. To walk it out, you must be intentional. We must mature in a way that brings favor to me. The devil can’t take it, but he can distract us enough where we will for forfeit it. Look at the people walking around with the stuff we are supposed to have. We dont time to play, if it dont fit!

The Pious life

Synopsis of Bible Study 01/04/12

Delivered by Bishop Walker III

Study Text

1 Peter 1:10-16: 10Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. 13Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

In this text, we believe that Peter wants us to understand the concept of discipline. There are things God has purposed for our lives to accomplish. What is important for us to understand is that it will require discipline to accomplish this purpose. Discipline is ignited by character. Gifts and talents will get you there, but character keeps you there.

If you work out often, it is easy to keep working out, but you if lay off it for a while, it is hard to get back into it. If you pray often, it is easy to remember to pray, but if you stop it is hard to get back into the habit. Discipline must require discipline. We must maintain character to walk it out. It takes character to maintain discipline, so then the enemy’s job is to distract us from this discipline.

This message is simply ground work for this series. We must examine then what Peter was trying to tell us. Peter was trying to tell us:

I. Don’t give up on what the prophets before you were looking for

Isaiah 2:1-4 says 1The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. – Here Isaiah was talking about how we would not study war no more.

Deliverance – Micah 2:12-13 says 12I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. 13The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them. – Prophesied that deliverance would come to God’s people.

Strong indestructible kingdom – Daniel 2:44 says 44And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. -. Jesus came prophesying the kingdom of God.

The prophets and the angels didn’t have what we have the benefit of having now, yet they were disciplined and held on. They endured afflication and hung in there based on prophesies they heard. Surely if they did this, we should be able to hold on after seeing how many prophesies have manifested throughout the bible.

Prophesies that we find in the bible, reveal things to us and give us revelation. God reveals things to us though revelations.

Prophets before (found in the Old Testament) prophesied during what we call their dispensation. What we mean is these prophets looked into the future during their dispensation to speak on what God would do in the future. Now (in today’s times) we know that the prophesies that they prophesied about, came to past. Knowing all of this, how could we not believe what the word says.

Prophesy

II. Gird up the loins of your minds

Gird up-ANAZONNUMI- This means to gird up or to gather the loose ends or to pull yourself together.

The mind – DIANOAIAS – This is the understanding – In other words, do we really understand what God is trying to show us. To gird up our minds means to be sober.

Be sober- NEPHO- Signifies to be free from the influence of intoxicants- Like intoxicants, there will be people that want to polute your thinking process. They come into your life and plant seeds. Think about the time you wasted thinking about stuff that polluted your mind. Ex-Just imagine you have this big project that you are supposed to be doing. All of a sudden you receive this text message. You see it knowing you shouldn’t answer it, but you do anyhow. Now that you have answered it, you don’t have time to complete that project that you should have finished. Answering the text message caused you not to be productive. This is the season where you have to declare you won’t let negative people cloud your mind.

1 Thessalonians 5:6 says 6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. – In other words, pay attention to the things that happen around you.

1 Thessalonians 5:7 says 7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. – Those that sleep do it at night.

1 Thessalonians 5:8 says 8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. – Let us put on salvation.

You got to learn how to keep your head. Confession is a mater of the heart. Romans 10:9-10 says 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. – How can we have so many people that say they love the Lord with their heart, yet their minds are so messed up? Their minds are so messed up; you don’t want to hear anything come from their mouths. Remember, we have said it before. There is a thin line between from Schizophrenia and hearing God.

The bible says put on helmet of salvation. This is mentioned one other place in the bible. This is however very important. In other words, God can have your heart, but Leroy can have your head. If Leroy has got your head, he will eventually make your leave God. We have to really process this.

Peter understood that the attack would first come to our mind. If you think about it, most of your problems start in your mind 1 Peter 1:13 says <sup>13</sup>Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

This scripture teaches:

Prevention of negative people clouding your mind

2 Timothy 4:5 says 5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. – Timothy’s assignment was for him to be an evangelist and fulfill his minstry. Affliction was going to come, but he had to keep watching. Paul told him to focus on his head so he could fulfil his assignement.

Set your hope fully on grace-1 Peter 1:13 says 13Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; – God gives you and I the grace to live out our asignement. Every assignment we have, God gives us the grace to walk it out. This is why you can’t walk out anyone else’s assignemnt. God didnt give you the grace to do their assignment.

What we got do in this grace is trust God more than we trust ourselves. We can’t trust ourselves, because we are a mess. We have to trust God to walk this thing out. We walk this thing out in hope.

Hope – is desire with expectation. Expectation creates desire, making us focused and disciplined towards this thing. The first attack the devil will bring then is to plant people who will plant negative thoughts. Today my mind will be sober.

If Satan can’t get you through there, he will plant affliction. Now we know we got revelation, because we know we dont have to deal with it. Our assignment was to focus on the goal. Folk are working it out.

III. Don’t be distracted

IV. We need God to consecrate us.

Sanctify- When we got saved, right at that moment, God took away all the things of my past and made us clean instantly. Nobody tells us about sanctification. It won’t work by itself, because we are flesh. We have to engage other flesh all the time. In fact, we are released in a world exposed to what people say and do. It is inevitable that we will bump up against some things (or encounter our lust issue) with our saved self. Now if you bump into someone or have a mere encounter with your lust issue, that is one thing, but it entirely another when you lay down with it. You had to make a conscious decision to do that. This is saved folk doing this not people of the world. We have to realize that nothing in our flesh is good.

Every man in this place is bumping in stuff if he was to be totally honest about it. Don’t ask to have your issue of the flesh taken away, because what are you going to do when you get married? Are you going to ask for it to be put back?

Sanctify- means we are cleansed. Sanftification is the porecess of setting thing in order.

Holiness -is sanctification laws. God doesn’t’ deal with rubbish.

1 Peter 1:14 says 14As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: - We are walking this thing out, but we have to understand how to live in obedience-Obedience-HUPAKOUO-This means to listen or attend, to submit, or to obey. – Two key words here is to listen and submit. Ex- When a parent tells a child to do something and the child doesn’t do it, the first response is to say, “Didn’t you hear what I said?” You think in your mind, “Clearly you must not have heard me, because you respect my authority and my ability to take stuff from you, so clearly you must not have heard me.” In like manner, God says, “Clearly you didn’t’ hear me. You know I could just take back the breath I gave you or the job I gave you that you didn’t deserve” We have got a lot of folk in church, but like this example, not everyone who goes to church is listening. We got a lot of folk who go to church who is not listening.

Only when Christ comes in will you know the difference. – The devils destaction is to cause you not to listen, so you will not obey. If you dont submit, you will conform to this world rather than being transformed by the renewing of your mind. The devil says, “I got you now”, because if you are not obedient, you conform and you go back to the former lust of your ignorance. There were things you done in your former life, because you were ignorant. Now the devil is trying to pull you back to it.

Examine this and see if any of this gets into your Kool-Aid. God you gave me stuff to do and now I have decided to do it. I have made up my mind not to let people mess with my mind. When my mind is sober and I have sobriety. Now I know how to handle affliction. We are not worried, because we are turning it all over to him. We find out while we trying to figure it out, he has already worked it out. Now as soon as I get out of church, trying to do right, the devil asks if I thought he was done on me. As I begin to answer, he says “Look behind you.” There is some stuff our flesh likes and Satan says if he can get us to like that, he can get us to turn. There is a part of us that is like Paul that says when he would do good, trouble is always around. You realize you have a flesh issue. Satan uses this and waves it in front of us like a banana. We try to be holy, but why don’t somedy tell us how to handle being holy when our flesh is horny. How do we handle this? Deep people might be saying they can’t believe we are saying this in a church like setting.

We must realize that it is holiness that we are after. That is why we got saved. We turned from our waves and got saved.

God’s desire is for us to be holy- HAGIOS- Means to be separated. – We got separated somehow from God. We are trying to help you so you don’t join church 10 times this year. True deliverance is not running from our flesh issue. Instead it is the ability to to walk by it and not have a problem with it. Running from it is called relocating.

Relocating is not the answer, because guess who is going to be in your new location? You will!

1 Peter 1:15 says 15But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; -Holiness is God’s work. Sin has the power to blind your mind, compromise your integrity, break down you morality, and pervert your view of God

Rationalism – This made Cain murder Abel, because their inequity had reached its fullness.

The wrath of God is being revealed – Romans 6:11 says 11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. -Sin makes us miss the mark. We were dead to sin and Paul asks in the scripture, what died in you? In other words, what is the authenticity of your salvation?

We have people vacillating between two different things. There is no difference between their post and pre-saved state. In their present state, they drank all the time and after being saved they still drink. You slept around before and after. What died then? What died in you? Here is the problem. In order to reach that goal God has set for you, you have to understand the process of sanictification.

Sanctification-It is not a denomination. After all, we hope all churches are sanctified.

Sanctify, sanctification, holiness

Every day, we wake up with something but we turn it over to Jesus.

How do you deal with that stuff in your flesh? Sin is to miss the mark. Holiness is a life style. Can we truly be holy? God is purely holy, because he is God. We can pursue and come close to holiness, but can we really be purely holy in this flesh? Every day we wake up, we had to die of something. Paul says he had to die daily, so surely we would. Every day, we say Lord consecrate me. We might pause and look, but we got to go towards our goal. We know this is trick, but we know what we have to do. When we get right there, the Devil tries one more time and put in front of you what you really like. How do you make it? You make it by looking back from where you were delivered and examine how far God has brought you and you ask if your really want to go all the way back there as to moving on to the short distance you have left before reaching your purpose. We have to remember that every man became a man when he got sick and tired. Every woman became a lady when she got tired. Every believer becomes more like Christ when they get tired. Are you tired?

Identity Crisis Part II

Synopsis of Bible Study 12/07/11

Delivered by Bishop Walker III

God says he has to check your ID to make sure you look like what his word says. We have to understand the power of loving God. When we love God, we live it out. In response, he reminds us how he sees us. When you believe in his power, you can believe in his love, and he will…

I. You got to know that God thinks about you a lot

Everywhere you go, God has you on his mind. Psalm 139:13-14: 3For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. – We are fearfully and wonderfully made. God made sure there would not be another person on the planet like you. God put everything in us that we needed to succeed.

Paul tells Timothy to stir up the gift inside. When you stir up the gift that God placed inside of you, then you will see how much greatness there is inside of you. God put in your capacity things that hadn’t even come to mind yet. You will not get it into your mind until you reach the proper season, because we couldn’t handle any time before this.

The world can’t handle but one of you. Psalm 139:15-18: 15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. – Before we existed, before our ancestry tree evolved, before being formed in our Mother’s belly, God knew us. God absolutely had us on his mind.

Jeremiah 29:11: 11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. -God says I know what i think about you. His thoughts are always of peace and not evil. Evil comes from the devil and not God. God always thinks of the end result. Ex- Before the beginning began, God was, and God began the beginning with you in mind. Just imagine, before the beginning began, God thought he needed to begin the beginning with us. He spent days creating with us in mind. God had a plan for our whole lives. God still does this. He has plans for our arrivals. Ex-You wanted to know why God hasn’t delivered what you were asking for yet. Just know that God planned our revival. God has planned our arrival. That door that will be opened hasn’t opened just yet. God is still planning what is on the other side of the door.

Before your Mom and Dad listened to that first Al green track, he was thinking about us. God spent the first days putting things in order (creating), so on the sixth day when he made us, he was able to drop us into a place that had everything in it that we needed to survive. God didnt begin with the beginning, he began with the beginning.

Remember Lucifer who was over music and worship, didn’t like God getting all the glory and praise and he got a third of the angels to stand with him to rebel against God. As a result he was cast onto the earth which was at the time filled with darkness and chaos. This was before the begining began.

Since Lucifer was an angel, he knows the plans that God has for us. He is a easedropper. This is why you have to pray in the Holy Ghost.

When God began us, he set us on a course for destiny. Satan couldn’t take away from you what God had planned for you, so he offered you a piece (much like the piece of fruit offered in the garden) and you took it and forfieted your promise. Ex- What piece have you taken that caused you to forfeit your destiny.

Satan said give it to me. When God made us, he told us we were made in his image, but when the devil took from us what God gave us, we forgot who we were. Instead of peacful thoughts, we had thoughts of evil. Like Adam and Eve, we were standing before the devil naked. We were ashamed and now, because of sin, we spend our days covering up. Note: Naked mentioned in the scripture means transparent.

God says he wasn’t going to let us stay in this situation forever. Romans 5:8: 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.- We lost our identity when we took the piece. God sent one prophet after the next and we were not listening, so God sent his son to be crucified and shed his blood, so we can gain our identity back. What Adam lost on one tree, Christ restored on another tree.

The Holy Ghost was placed in us now to help us walk this thing out. We are Christians, but this is what was amazing. If we were to ask who among us Christians are, every one of us would raise our hands. On the other hand, if we were to get some undercover people to follow us for week, all their reports would say different. We wouldn’t even be able to come up with 10 things that we could list about us that would demonstrate the characteristics of a Chiristian, because we have gotten so jacked up.

God loves us so much, he is not going to give up on us. We thank God that he doesnt give up on us.

II. God wants to give you good things

Everything that seems good to you is not good for you.

What God gives us isn’t determined by the recipient; instead it is determined by the giver. We might not want God to give us some things that are good, but we dont know what is good for us (all the time). Ex- We don’t like to eat vegetables for example. We want meat and cake and the sweet tea instead. Again what we want is not what is always good for us. If we ate the vegetables, we wouldn’t have the obesity, the high blood pressure, or the $10,000 dental bill. Just like this, God says he knows some things he takes us through don’t feel good, but if you look back on it, you realize that some of those things were good for you. All things work together for the good them that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.

Matthew 7:9-11: 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? , John 16:24: 24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.-The key word here is asking in his name. Word means that Jesus is the word. In other words, we can’t ask for something that isn’t in his word.

Why do we trip? Luke 12:28-29: 28If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. – Why worry about what you put on. Don’t let your mind play tricks on you.

Nations think – Luke 1:30: 30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. -Your father knows, as you are trying to figure it out on the calculator. He knows about the breakthrough you need. Ex- We got 30days left to pay our bill and we panic as if God doesn’t know. God already knew you were going to need it, before you were even placed in your Mother’s womb. Lean not to your own understanding and in all your ways, acknowledge him.

Luke 12:31: 31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. -Seek the kingdom of heaven first. The world says we have to do “the hustle thing.” We understand what that means. There are some things God is going to do without you. There are some things we just don’t need to know all the details about. Do you think Joseph knew and understood everything that was going on with Mary (referring to her being pregnant with the baby Jesus)? There are some things that God can do without you. You stay where God wants you to be. Seek the kingdom of heaven first and stop trying to work it out yourself.

III. God takes pleasure in blessing you

Proverbs 8:17-19: 17I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. 18Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. 19My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. -God wants us to see him. Ex- Imagine that there are 2 curtains. Behind curtain 1 is a million dollars. Behind curtain number 2, there is access to Bill Gates homes, access to all of his resources, and you are written into the inheritance. Some of you would take the million dollars and run. After you realize what you got to live on each yr, you find out that you are in trouble. If you choose curtain 2, you realize that you don’t have to pay rent or cook, because you have access to Bill Gate’s stuff. You might not have a have dime in pocket, but as long as you have access, everything will be alright. Just like this, God will fix it where stuff will just bless you in unusual places. You will almost be out of gas and somebody will just come up and bless you with enough to get gas. When you have access, there will be little blessing along the way to your destiny. We are in the God’s house!

Psalm 37:4: 4Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. – This is not the desires of a carnal heart. The desires of your heart are things that bless God. You ought to want stuff that edifies God. This truly is what is meant by the desires of the heart. If i can help somebody as I pass along the way, then my living won’t be in vain.

Proverbs 3:9-10: 9Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. -In our identity, every time God blesses us we bless others. You can give a believer a $1 and they will but a dime in church. The world dont think like that. The world gives to its own. The first fruits of the world go to the world. The first fruits of believers go to the kingdom. Ex-Bishop explains how he had a dream or a vision that it was Christmas Sunday 2011 and from the pulpit he asked for the congregation to give an offering and everyone acted like it black Friday at Wal-Mart. The people that act the way they do, giving their money to Wal-Mart on Black Friday, only have the sales to motivate them to do what they do. We as Christians have grace and mercy to motivate us, yet we act stingy. The world doesn’t understand us when we act like we do (giving our first fruits to God). They want your side hustle to assure their survival. As Christians, there is no hustle. We just know that we give and he will give it back to us. We know that God will open up the windows of heaven and pour us out a blessing that we will not have room enough to receive. This is not a hustle! It is living out the word!

God has a desire for us to be blessed. If our identity is anything, we ought to be advertisment for the kingsodom. If anyone ought to be blessed, it ought to be us. Our blessings fund purpose. If God blesses you, he knows you will bless others. This is why he can trust us with it. Know that he is coming.

IV. Whatever is done to you, God takes it personally

If they mess with you, God takes it personally. Matthew 25:24: 24Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: – Who fed the hungry? This is the answer to the question if we are a democrat or republican. Eveyone was born in greatness, but not in the same context. Ex- Before the beginning began, God thought about you. God knew what was going to happen. He began the beginning with you in mind and planed your arrival. Adam arrived and God gave him everything and allowed him to rule. He forfeited it, because he liked immediate gratification. We are still like that. He just saw it, and it was over. Faith dont come by seeing, but hearing. God gave his only son to reconcile. If we believe, we have everlasting life which is what he intended for us to have in the beginning. We claim to be saved, but we are not there yet. There is the here down here and the here in heaven. The “there” down here, is the place of promise. It is the thing you were born to do. You have grown and left the beginning. You can see your “there promise.” You are almost there and in between the beginning and the promise, here comes the serpent.

Jesus told Peter that Satan desired to sift him like wheat. Because of this, Jesus says he prayed for him. Just like this, God has us covered. He saw how we lost it the first time, but he is not going to let us loose it again. Our destiny is in front of us and we wonder why it is so hard to get to it? Are we going to get there? Is it really going to happen now?

Psalm 34:7: 7The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. – Everything you get into between here “your there”, God will deliver us from. Aren’t you glad that some things that could have jeopardized your” there” were blocked by angels that God sent. There are angels in the natural and the supernatural. The scripture says many of us have entertained angels unaware. Things should have happened, but thank God it didn’t, because there were some angels.

Thank God our identity is not shaped by people and is instead shaped by God’s word. God has great plans for you. All you got to do is walk it out. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. This is why you shouldnt rejoice in those who fall. Next time it could be you that falls. Thank God that he rejoices and wants to restore us. God sees us and right through us. He sees where he is taking us. We have to trust him and believe when we don’t know what he is doing Ex- Bishop remembers that he came to Nashville kicking and screaming, but you can’ get him to leave now, because he is at “his there.” “There” is the most awesome place to be. You know you are where God called you be when you reach your “there.” You don’t worry about others when you get there. Just remember that most of the time, the ones talking about you are the ones who have not reached their “there!”

Identity Crisis Part I
Synopsis of Bible Study 11/30/11
Delivered by Bishop Walker III
We have to be what we are supposed to be in our life, no matter where things may take us. Our identity is not defined by or economic level, our social status, or who we are connected with. It is defined by God who has his hand on our lives.

Who are we in Christ?
What does this look like? We have to remember that sin pushed us from our original God intended image. We call ourselves Christians, because it means Christ like, which means we are supposed to be modeling ourselves after God. When we say we are Christians, we are saying that our identity is like God. In fact, we ought to actually fool the angels when we get to heaven, because we look so much like God.
John 8:3- says the truth shall make us free. We are loved by God, not because of what we have done, but because of who we are. Romans 5:8 reminds us that how we acted within our old actions is now inconsistent with our image today, because now God lives within us. He didn’t cut us off despite what we have done, because he saw what was within us even when we didn’t see it for ourselves.

Why would we tell you that God loves you?
It is because of John 17:23 which says in other words, look at the depth of the love of God between God and me. God loves us like he loves Jesus. After every act we have committed, God still loves us the way he loves Jesus Christ.
John 15:13 tells us that people go through life acting in certain ways, because they don’t feel that people love them. This is a result of their identity being jacked up. Human relationships have failed them so much; their concept of love has become jacked up. As a result, we start looking for love and anyone that has game can love us (or gain our love).
Ephesians 3:17 tells us about how we should be rooted. Rooted and grounded in this scripture means being planted, being stable, or being grounded in the love of God. People that have been rooted are stable. God then becomes the example by which they are to be loved. If we don’t know where we are at or what we have got in God, we are not stable. If we stay still in the love of God, he can show us how we should be loved.
Everything in your flesh hates you being by yourself. God wants us to be alone with him, so that we will know what love really is and have a way to measure real love. If we are not stable, all it takes is somebody to say something nice to us and we will forget what we have. Every day we wake up, God reminds us that we are the head and not the tail and that we are above and not beneath.
If a stable and loved person is approached, game will not work them. This is why Fathers must take their daughters on dates. This will allow them to see an example of how men should treat them. Just like this, the bible says love your wife as Christ loves the church. We must stay grounded, in the love of God, so when it shows up, we know what real love looks like.
Ephesians 3:18-19 reminds us that we are filled with the fullness of God. The love of God fills us and fulfills so we must know that we are complete in God. Ex-There was a Husband who had a meeting one night. On the night of the meeting, his wife has chicken, sweet potatoes, greens, and cornbread prepared for him. Notice that she is taking care of her man. He sits down and eats and when he has finished, she asks if he wants more. The husband tells her no, because he is full. After the meal, he leaves for his meeting. When he passes by Wendy’s or J. Alexander’s, it doesn’t bother him, because he is full. The issue is, when we understand that God fills us in like manner, then we don’t need somebody else to do what he has already done. We are full. We have the fullness of God. God completes us.

You are purchased with a price
1 Cor 6:20 says we were purchased with price. It cost Jesus’ blood to redeem us from the hand of the devourer. God says he couldn’t continue to let us go out like we were doing, he sent his son to pay the debt. It costs something.
Your body and spirit represents your identity. If you glorify God in your spirit and in your body, what comes out of your mouth and how you carry yourself will be of God. We want to always strive to look like God.
We are justified and declared innocent- If you realize that you are justified then you don’t worry about your past. Gal 2:16 talks about being justified. In this scripture, justify means to render innocent. This doesn’t mean you are innocent (referring to our past); it means that we have been made innocent by God justifying us. He makes it just as if we never done it.
Why is justification important? – Satan can terrorize our mind and hold us captive about stuff we have done in our past. All of us have been terrorized by stuff that we did in the past, if we were to be totally honest.
We are entitled to have a clean conscious- Heb 9:14 says that we are urged from all those thoughts and things. Don’t beat yourself up over failures of your past. They have been nailed to the cross. Remember when you tipped out on your spouse? Remember the last time you got drunk and embarrassed yourself? All these things were nailed to the cross. You allowed the opinions of others to bother you. Romans 8:1 reminds us that we can’t live in our past. We won’t be terrorized by our conscious. God has purged the things we’ve done. Ex- When you purge something, it is like a hard reset on your phone. A hard reset means you lose everything. This is what God did. He hard reset our mind. We know we did it, but we know that God has taken it all away.
Your sins are no longer a part of you- Your sins have been removed from your account. John 1:29 says he takes it away. Matt 26:28 says God said he has chosen to forget the failures of our past. Why then haven’t we? Why do we think God is walking around waiting to penalize us of stuff that he has delivered us from. This is like saying that you prayed, God forgave you, then thinking God is about to turn around and get you for what you prayed about. If that was the case, we all would be walking around with leprosy. Heb 10:17 says God forgot about it, so why don’t we.
We have peace with God- When we are in proper relationship with God, we have peace. Rom 5:1 says it doesn’t matter if others have peace about it, as long as we got peace with God. While you are talking about me, I am sleeping at night. We realize that we are not that same person anymore.
We are clothed with the righteousness of Jesus- Rom 3:2 & 25 suggest the idea that we have been made right by God. There is not one cell in your natural flesh that wants to do right. Every day when we wake up, our flesh wants to go left. The only thing that keeps us from going left is our relationship with Jesus and the Holy Ghost within us.
When you are spiritual, you know when you are leaning left. Some of us lean so far left, we end up worshipping and ministering while leaning left. You need to understand that when you are out of alignment, it is hard to go straight. Ex- If everything in your car is in proper alignment, your tires are properly inflated, and your tires have been rotated, then you could take your hand off the steering wheel and the car would still go straight for a while. After hitting a few bumps and pot holes, we will find that our car will pull to the left instead of going straight. What has happened is that the bumps and pot holes have knocked our car out of alignment. It is important to note that you can’t change your alignment while driving. In order to get our car realigned, it has to be jacked up, wheels rotated, and tires inflate to its proper levels. In like manner, we try to work, serve, and minster while we are out of alignment. Sometimes we have to pause, get jacked up, and rotate our spiritual tires in order to keep from going left! In order to be effective, we have to be spiritually in line
Our identity is we know there is no good thing in us. We know that every day, God wakes us up and has to make us righteous. Because of flesh, we are not geared to do everything right.
You are made new in Christ. 1 Cor 5:17- You have been restructured. You can’t tell what has been there before. Ex- As Mt Zion the church, we didn’t remodel our Antioch location, we gutted it. There were mirrors and poles located inside of our now Antioch location which used to be Club. We didn’t want any memory of the old place lingering around, so we restructured it (instead of remodeling it). To look at it now, you have no idea what used to happen there (at the Antioch location) before it was a church. Just like this, you have been recreated and not remodeled. We have been made new. We often get upset when people say we are acting new, but really we ought to be glad, because we ought to act brand. If we have been made brand new, why shouldn’t we act brand new.

Talk:
Bishop explains that he has been wrestling with something theologically. It has to do with identity and being a new creation. Bishop explains he was in the store in New York and saw this young boy. His Mom was buying him some jeans. To Bishop the pair of Jeans the boy was trying on looked good. The young boy asks for a larger size. Once he got up to a pair that was saggy, he was finally satisfied. Now in assessing this, it was evident what was going on. This is a generation that is attracted to that which does not fit. It is much deeper than jeans itself though. That which fits is considered corny and out of date. This generation does not like structure. This generation wants to be out of the box.
You can’t even discipline this generation. For example, Bishop remembers that when he was young, whether you had to go to the bathroom or not, you had to sit there until the church was over. Just think about the images that are put out now days. As a result, this generation is attracted to things that are out of the norm and that doesn’t fit. Bishop admits that he does the skinny jeans (one of today’s fads), but explains that if you have to point your toes like a ballerina to put them on, then something is wrong. This just doesn’t fit. Another thing is you go to church and gain all this word, yet your show up with somebody on your arm that really doesn’t fit.
Bishop challenges us to think about this: Here is a brother in church with a job and a degree, but in a modern day woman’s eyes, he is corny. They don’t realize that you can possibly mold a corny dude with a job more than you can the unemployed brother with the sag and the swag. The sad thing is, the brother who is trying to live right can’t even get a date. Bishop further explains that he admits to enjoying going back home to his class reunions. He says he was that corny brother, but look at him now. This generation likes stuff that doesn’t fit. This generation possess identities based on images that are put out by the world that are opposite of God and his planned identity for you. We have to realize who we are and how God made us.
We are seated with Christ in a position of authority. Eph 2:6-When Christ got up from the grave, he brought us up too. It doesn’t matter what background you came from, when you got saved, Jesus raised us up with him. You have the opportunity to be who you want to be, because he will take care of you. Every day you wake up, you have the confidence to know who you are. We don’t need anyone’s validation. You just want to hear God say, hello thou good and faithful servant… well done!
When you leave from reading this writing, you are going to hear from some image. For some, you will say you want to be like that person. We impress upon you to let your identify be shaped by “I am that I am.” We will be who we will be. Bishop reminds us that he is Joseph Walker, the son of a glass cleaner and teacher of a Special Ed class. Bishop explains that he didn’t realize that he was brought up poor until he was grown. He explains that he thought everyone grew up like he did.
At one point he realized that his identity had to be shaped by God not what was around him. He explains that he is an engaged person. Whatever God does in your life, God wants to know if he can trust you to be what he called you to be. Even if you walk with kings, don’t let people define you. Bishop says even though he is a Pastor of over 26000 people, he knows where he came from and if it hadn’t been for Gods hand on his life, things would have turned out different. He ends by encouraging us to know that the same God that did it for him can do it for you.

Additions and Authorities Part I

Synopsis of Bible Study 11/10/11

Delivered by Bishop Walker III

Classes of Additions

Chemical

Process (behavioral)

Addiction is a pleasure based behavior that is out of control and causes harm to you

What does addiction do?

Excitement and stimulation

Brings about tension reduction and comfort- In other words we feel it takes the edge off for us

It is about control. Satan wants you to lose control. – When you are not in control, something else will be in control (of you).

What are the side effects of addiction?

Psychological cycle of addition

There is something that we desire that we know we shouldn’t. Think about a thing you have a desire for that you know you should not? Now that thing that you named needs a stimulus. It is there (inside of you), but it takes something to stimulate it (or open it up).

There is a pleasure that desires stimulus.

Once stimulus takes place, sadness kicks in. The sad thing is we start making preparations on how we can do it again. This creates temporary relief. This will weaken our will to resist it. To top it off, we have thoughts of doing it again. – This is how addition works. It is not in a bottle or a joint. In fact, it could be sitting on your pew, on your job, or in your phone right now!

People who study addiction say its causes are:

Genetic

Personality

Parental teaching and example- This refers to what people taught you as you grew up. Ex- Instead of asking our little sons if they have a girlfriend, we ask them how many girlfriends they have.

Social Pressure

Pain

Spiritual poverty

Eph 5:18- The bible says don’t say we that we can’t drink wine, but it does say don’t let it control your mind. Why is this? It is because anything that controls your mind convinces you that it is greater than the God in you.

Paul says some things such as what is found in 1 Cor 6:12- Paul is saying that most everything is permissible, but not beneficial.

There is this sense. We have to know ourselves. There is not anything in the bible that says you can’t drink wine. Some things are permissible, but not beneficial. Ex- Bishop Walker explains that he recognized early on in life that he had an addictive personality. Therefore, he reframed from involving himself in alcohol or drugs. You got to know yourself and refuse to open your spirit to that which could be addictive.

How do we get to this?

Faith- In AAA, they make you believe in step one. You have to admit that you are powerless and that you can be delivered by a power greater than you. This is process. Eph 2:8- We are saved by grace. We are in process.

Grace to me- John 3:36-We are saved, but it doesn’t mean we don’t struggle with stuff. How do we get through our struggles? It is by grace. Phil 4:13, Gal 5:13-Don’t boast about it, but through grace, love one another. Don’t make it and then look down on another who is struggling. The church is a place where addicted people ought to be able to come and get well. Some of us in church get self righteous like we never struggled.

Repentance: is a change of the mind which leads to a change of behavior. R Kelly said when a woman’s mind is made up; there is nothing you can do about it. In other words, the only thing that can change some people’s mind is God.

Elements of Repentance

Confession, Commitment, and Contrition

Confession- I changed mind about my behavior; when I admit what I am doing is wrong. If the devil has convinced me that what I am doing is not wrong, I never come to repentance. There is a song that said the bible is right and somebody is wrong.

When we confess it is godly. Read Titus 3:3 when you get a chance. – We have to get a place that we resolve to change and leave that bad behavior by replacing it with something good. Ex- Bishop said as a child he was real hype and his parents replaced this negative energy with drums. What do you do with a person that comes into the church that has faced addiction? You give them something to do. An Idle mind is the devils work shop.

Commitment- Is to say, we are making ourselves accountable to somebody. Write down 3 people in your life that you are accountable to. These should people who are genially in your life that will call you and make sure you are holding it together. One of our biggest problems is that we don’t want to be accountable to anybody.

Contrition- This is Godly sorrow. When we do a thing, we come to a place where we feel terrible about how it made God feel. God says he woke you up this morning, he gave you this and that, and the devil keeps coming trying to mess you up. Then he has to watch us break his heart. It is only until you realize how it makes God feel that this type of repentance comes. Ex- A boy was in trouble with his life. He could not get his life right. The boy was taken to the holding room and made to look at his mom cry. That is all it took for him to straighten out. It is this kind of realization that we have to come to. We have to realize how our participation to addiction grieves God.

Idolatry is the same as addiction. Anything that we love more than God points to an addiction. 1 Cor 10:7, 2Tim 3:4- What is it that you love more than God. What is it? What will get you up at 2 in the morning and keep you up all night long, yet we can’t stay in church for 2 hrs? What will make you drop 20 dollars and yet you give 5 dollars in church. What will make you go in the snow and yet just the chance of snow will keep you from coming to church. What will keep you on the computer all night and yet you don’t talk to God whom you say you love?

There is hope. Deliverance is available:

When we defend ourselves from the devil by the prayer of faith, we believe what we pray when we pray. Matt 6:13 – It is God’s power that will help us through this. We have to learn to thank God for deliverance no matter how you get it.

When we resist the devil by speaking the word of faith out of our mouths. James 4:7- Jesus said it is written.

When we seek the prayers of other believers. The prayers of other believers, especially those with spiritual authority, are powerful enough to deliver- We need those that will take it to grave and then the cross.

God has to be your greatest pleasure. Psalms 16:11-If we can just fall back in love with God, everything would be alright. Remember when you first got saved. You wanted to be involved in everything. You had your button and you wanted to change your license plate that read scriptures. You even had notes falling out your bible, but what happened? It was life and addiction. Now you have a lukewarm relationship.

It’s your choice

a. God won’t mess with your free will. Romans 6:16-18- You got the power to control yourself. There is a difference between addiction and habit.

Addiction is loss of control and freedom, while habit is something that is active, but can be removed if desired.

If you must have coffee to function, it is an addiction. If you choose to drink it every day, it is a habit. How do you know if it is a must? If you choose you talk to it. If you must it talks to you.

Addiction- It has a word in it called diction (words) meaning it talks to you. People strung out say it all the time, “it was calling me !” Ex – Samson was addicted to strange women so Delilah laid in his lap and talked to him.

Addiction loves entitlement. Addiction will make you believe that you are entitled to it.Ex – “ I just need this for me.“

All addictions are sinful. Illegal drugs and prescription both are sinful. You might not be strung out, but it is still sin. Nobody ends up being in this crazy stuff.

You got to stay away from sinful behaviors- 1 Thess 5:22-Be sure you check everything out. Is you going an hotel because you went to the party? The answer is no. but can you handle it. For others, the party changes you. Anything that changes you from being who you are is an addiction. You were cool till you met this person, now we don’t know who you are.

Exercise self control- Bad company corrupts good morals. It doesn’t mean you ain’t cool with a person, but some people will get you caught up in stuff you shouldn’t be caught up in. Matt 16:24-You got to get yourself out the way.

Walk by the spirit. – Gal 5:22-When we walk by the spirit, we crucify our flesh. Every day, we have to make a conscious decision to die in the flesh.

The power of God in our lives

Rom 1:16, 1 Thess 2:13-When we think of all the possibilities of addiction, alcohol, illegal drugs, and painkillers. It is all about cycle. This means we start using cocaine, meth, snort Freon from the air conditioner.

Overeating and eating disorders, gambling, sexual contact, risky behavior, arson, vandalism, the need for attention, codependency, sports, ego, power, work, greed, excessive exercise, electronic games, television, internet, shopping, hoarding, lying, kleptomania, a masochism( which is gratification from being abused), and sadism (abusing people in sexual activity) are all addictions.

God’s frees us from our addictions- Luke 4:18, Gal 5:1- If you been set free, act free. Who would get free and want go back to slavery? God gives us endurance through our temptation. 1 cor 10:13-God says he will give us an escape plan. Ex- Codes makes it so your pathway is illuminated should an emergency come up in a building. In other words, when darkness comes, the exit signs will come light up. God says he will do just like this. He will light the way in our dark situations. When our way is dark, he gives us an exit strategy.

God gives us strength. 2 Cor 12:9, God will give you victory. 1 John 5:3-4-5, Roman 8:37- We opened up by saying think of thing you were drawn to. It was that thing that you desired that you shouldn’t (addiction). Remember all you have to do is ask God to deliver you.

I. 3 steps to accomplish destiny

1. Learn how to imagine it. God saw the world before he created it. God has given us a creative ability within us that manifests in the earth realm, so then we got to get an image of what our destiny looks like. Most of the pictures of our destiny have come during the darkest moments of our life. God said that this is ok, because pictures are often developed in a dark room. You will sometimes see your destiny like never before while you are in the darkest moments of our lives.

2. You are not sitting in a chair or pew. You are sitting in a manifestation of an idea. A blueprint was given to a chair maker so he would know what to make. Without the image or imagination the blueprint would have never be manifested.

3. Believe it! When you imagine things, it is often out of our hearts passion, but your heart has to line up with your head. Your head convinces you that what is in your heart is not possible. What the enemy doesn’t know is you are partnering with God to bring your destiny to pass. It might not be possible for you, but it is not impossible for God. You have to believe it and then what you see is possible.

4. Do it! Doing it separates believers from doers. Some people never ever get up to do the thing. They are always fixing to do something.

5. We have to start speaking what we see. We imagine something happeining in our life. Once we belive it we see it and speak it. Our language doesn’t speak of the negatives. We speak to the thing we see in the supernatural. We have to speak it, though it might not be yet.

II. Your choice determines your destiny

1. Outcome determinative – The decisions you made when you were young, determined the course of your life. If you didn’t take care of body when you were young, it catches up with you when you get older Solomon helps us understand how to think through our decisions properly. Proverbs 13:1 says 1A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.- This scripture talks about taking wise steps.

2. The right steps- We have to have someone to speak into our lives that give us spiritual wisdom. It may be a Pastor or mentor or parent. Never get to a point where you can’t allow someone to speak spiritual accountability into your life. If you don’t learn to speak or listen to people that is supposed to speak into your life, your outcome may turn out different. Ex- They say ÿou got to have a plan. We need somebody to speak into our life according to God’s word and promises.

3. We need to also watch how we speak. Proverbs 13:2-3 says 2A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence. 3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. -Words are powerful. The very thing we saw, we have to learn to speak that thing into existence. We can’t allow others to speak to our destiny and we not speak to it. Even if people think we are crazy, we speak to the stuff that we saw it in the spiritual realm. Imagine it, believe it, and speak to it. Your destiny should never be contingent on how much you have or don’t have. You were never supposed to chase stuff. Instead, chase your destiny and stuff will chase you. Running afer stuff is not runing after destiny. When you run after destiny, money will chase you. Goodness and mercy follows us all the days of our lives. The only reason God prospers us, is to fincance purpose. Prosperity funds purpose. If you aint doing nothing, you won’t ever have nothing. What is the point of God giving you finances if you are not doing anything? Ex- A person who gets finances too quickly and don’t understand purpose will soon have nothing, because they didn’t know what do with the finances they got.

In other words, it ransoms you, because you have a fear of what will happen to the things that have value in your life. When you in destiny, you don’t have the ransom. Ex- Job lost everything, but he realized that the Lord giveth and taketh way, but blessed be the name of the Lord.
Synopsis of Bible Study 09/21/11

Delivered by Bishop Walker III

Many of us could go on to live more productive lives if we could just embrace this idea of proper alignment. What we mean by this is that there is so much clutter and so many things that get us off of our course. At the beginning of this discussion we are going to have first talk about getting the most out of life (purpose).

What is our purpose? How do we arrive at this purpose? This is so important. We have to first realize that God had an intent.

I. God had an intent

1. When God allowed us to be born, he had an intent.

2. Laying a foundation:

a. Any discussion about purpose is a discussion that originates with the word. It does not originate with somebody’s opinion or someone telling you statistically what you should or should not do.

b. Whatever God’s word speaks over your life is where God is going to direct you. Jeremiah 1:4-6:4Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” 6Then said I, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a child.” – Before you came to be an embryo and before you even existed, God said he knew you. He had an intent for you being born. God was providentially moving to bring your parents together, because your birth was not an accident. You are here for a reason, so before you became who you are, the intent was already there.

c. Before you were born, God sanctified you. – God had already ordained you a prophet before you were born. In other words, it was already settled. Ex- Picture a before stage (which is heaven), a birth canal (representing the passage way to earth), and then the earth. The bible says “I have ordained you a prophet to the nations”

d. Jeremiah 1:6 says 6Then said I, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a child.”- All Jeremiah knew how to do is what we do. He called back his own inadequacies to God as if God doesn’t already know our limitations. We wonder if God knows what (who) we are working with, as if he doesn’t know what/who he is working with when he was the one that called. Our flesh says, “Look at your inadequacies” and it also tells us to remind God why we can’t do something or why we are not qualified to do something.

e. Jeremiah 1:7 says7But the LORD said unto me, “Say not, `I am a child,’ for thou shalt go to all whom I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak., – God says,” I knew you were a child when I called you. Don’t tell me what I already know.” God answers Jeremiah by telling him to speak what he told him to speak.

g. Jeremiah 1:9 says 9Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, “Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth.- The Lord put forth his hand and there was transfer into the natural. Super came down and touched the natural and then this gives us the supernatural ability to do what we are about to do. Your purpose really is a supernatural manifestation of something that has nothing to do with your ability, but everything to do with your availability. Every time you walk in purpose, it ought to blow your mind that God would actually do all that he does through someone like us.

                                                               i. God made a transfer. When you are in purpose, he will set us above nations and kingdoms. Promotions don’t come from the East or West. Promotion comes from the Lord.

ii. God says he doesn’t put us in place of power and authority for us just to sit back and be passive. God says he doesn’t raise us up to just be passive, get a check and go home. God says we have to make a difference when he puts us into places of elevation.

i. The whole process- Before God put us into our mother’s womb, he knew us.
j. We all have this in common –Bishop challenges us by saying he would give a hundred dollars to anyone reading this, who was not born of a mother. The point is this; everyone reading this was born into this world through a Mother. Even Jesus had to come down through a Mother (Mary). Before we were born, something was spoken over our life. We didn’t know it, because we didn’t have a conscious awareness. When we were formed in our Mother’s belly, it was the beginning process of our purpose.

k. We got to get here- It took pain to get us here. Jesus said when he got here, he was wrapped up in flesh. Flesh is carnal or that which is not of the spirit. Flesh is corruptible. Flesh will always war and oppose what its intent was. Flesh always says, “What we going to do?” The reason is because flesh wants to do its own thing. Here we are in flesh, so now we are in pursuit. We want to know why we are here. We got to figure out what the intent was. We can’t leave here, without knowing why we are here.

l. While we are on this side, we don’t have time to play with our purpose- James 4:14-15 says 14whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15Instead ye ought to say, “If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that.” -You don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow. It is a vapor. It appears for a little time, but then it vanishes away. You ought to instead say, “If we live, we are going to do (fill in the blank)!

m. Here we are trying to figure out our purpose, but our life is like a vapor, so we don’t have time to be shucking and jiving. We don’t have time to be aimlessly grabbing at stuff, wondering about it, or being led by people down these paths that have nothing to do with our purpose or destiny. Life is too short. The last thing we want to do is wake up 10 yrs later and be remorseful and biter about the times we lost. We recognize that if we had only listened to God about what we should have majored in or what we should have done with our life, we probably would be in a much greater place

n. You can really have a full and rewarding life. Most of us don’t recognize what God wants us to have.

Ask yourself:

1. Are you happy with your life?

2. Are you really fulfilling your life long ambitions right now? Purpose is a revolt against mediocrity. Purpose doesn’t tolerate mediocrity. We promote you, because of what God is placed in your life is so awesome. It doesn’t even line up with mediocrity and triflingness. You tolerate mediocrity and trifleness when you don’t know your purpose, because you just feel like this is where you belong. If a person doesn’t understand a purpose for a thing, they will abuse a thing. That’s why some have handled you the way they did. They didn’t understand who you were. They understand the purpose for which Christ came. If you don’ understand your purpose or why you are here, you will use the time that God gave you, shucking and jiving.

3. Psalm 16:11 says11Thou wilt show me the path of life; in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. -We here this scripture all the time as it relates to worship. – There was an intent. We were born in flesh meaning we are born into sin. As a little child, it is expected of me not to know my purpose. Example: As a child, we might have said, “I want to drive an ice cream truck or a fire engine when I grow up (for a living)”The point is, we have no way of comprehending our purpose as a child. All I know is what I want to do. When I grow up and I mature., if I have a God conscious in me, I grow up and mature (or have atleast some church in me) and I am kind of moving to a place where I will eventually run into my purpose. Then here comes the devil, because the devil wants to derail us. Even though I have grown up in church, I have this season where I stray away. Don’t act like you haven’t been there before? As a result, you get pulled away from the things of God and as a result you go out there and kick it, but because you have some God in you and you had a praying mother or grandmother, it pulled you back in. Aren’t you glad that God left the 99 in search of the one and gave you another chance?

4. Now we are adults. Our level of comprehension is a little different. You have been exposed to life. Now you submit yourself to a Pastor that can speak God’s word into your life properly with application and relevancy. Now you begin to understand the word of God for the first time, like never before. The more word you get, the more it pushes your flesh down and tells your flesh to come under submission. It tells the flesh to die. When God tells us to go one way and the flesh tells us to go another way, if we are under a word, we can resist. What we stand under is what we understand. If we are under a real word, when our flesh tries to revolt and take us another way, even though we might go, we won’t feel right. We realize we have to try and find our way back.

5. The word will show us our purpose. His word is a light unto our feet and a light unto our pathway.

6. His word will show us the path of life. We are not trying to just exist. We are trying to live. Lots of people wake up dreaming, eating, and sleeping, but this means we only exist. If you don’t tap into why you are here, you are just existing. John 10:10 says that the devil came to destroy, but he came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. God wants us to have an abundant life. Every time we wake up, we feel like we are walking in purpose.

7. We don’t go to a job, we go to purpose. We recognize that everything we are connected to is tied to why we are here. We are in tune to God’s intent for our life. We don’t need an attachment or additives to have a fulfilled life. We are high on life. If you are not filled on life, then you need this other stuff to help you live life. If you in purpose, you are full on life. You don’t need any alcohol or marihuana to fulfill you. You don’t need to get drunk and tore down and you don’t have to lower your standards by going out with that will do. You can be cool by yourself, because you are full on life itself.

What do we need?

1. We need a sense of purpose and destiny. Proverbs 29:18 says 8Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.-

2. Vision only comes to people who make investments in purpose. God does not trust vision to people who don’t prepare. God is not going to let your vision manifest until you show some interest in preparing. This means to get sharp in the skill that God has called you to do.

3. You want to perfect your craft. God wants you to make some investments in this. This is where vision comes in. The revelation comes when we start making investments. Ex-When God called Bishop to preach, he was going to be a lawyer. He didn’t want to, but his yes was greater than his no. Bishop came to Nashville to Divinity School at Vanderbilt. While he was here and he had a Damascus Road experience. He was blinded in the spirit and as a result his eyes were open and he started seeing stuff. Driving along, Bishop would see condos in places where others saw cow pastures. Nobody was seeing what bishop was seeing, so he thought he was going crazy. God said, “Son you are not crazy, that’s vision. God didn’t’ show this when he first called him, because he can’t trust people he calls to vision, because they haven’t made and investment yet. They will mistreat it, because they don’t’ understand how precious vision is.

4. Whenever God shows you something, you will not be able to afford it. If you can afford what you see, it is not vision. Instead it is just a good idea. Vision will always be bigger than your budget. It will always be bigger than your bank account. If you keep your vision under Devine Supervision, you will always have provision. If God called you to it, make an investment and see how far it will go.

5. 2 Timothy 1:9 says 9who hath saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but in accordance with His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began, – We were saved for a purpose. We were not just saved to go to heaven. We were saved to manifest something in the earth realm. There is something in the earth realm that we are supposed to do.

6.

When you understand that God has a plan for your life, you will stop being frustrated about people not having a plan for you. When you don’t fit others schemes of things, it must mean that God has something much bigger for you to do. Jeremiah 20:11 says11But the LORD is with me as a mighty, fearsome one; therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail. They shall be greatly ashamed, for they shall not prosper; their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

2. God made you unique for a purpose. God has a sense of humor. He made you just the way you are. There is no one on the planet like you. This planet can’t handle but one of you. Psalm 139:14 says 14I will praise Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well. – God takes your personality and intertwines it with your purpose. He uses your own personality. Ex-Bishop Walker was a 3rd grade terror. He would never sit down. He was involved in every sport and played every instrument and he slept very little. He was a people person too. Now God has put him with a church where he has to run all around the city. God took his personality to help him Pastor a church such as this where all of those things in him as a kid could be used.

3. Look at your passions. Find out who does it and does it well.

9. Make sure your motivation is to glorify God and help other and God will bless 1 Corinthians 10:31 says31Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.- To be famous is not the right motivation. To serve and give God the glory is the right motivation. That intent God had for you was never about yourself glory. It was about serving mankind and God getting glory in the process.

10. There are people that are incredibly busy, but empty. We equate success with tangible items. There is a difference between being successful and significant. Significant is making an impact and leaving a foot print on the world. Are you just busy and never manifesting anything?

As we mature we ask:

Are we really happy with us.? Phel 4.11-14- pauls says that he is cool with this place of purspoe. He is not under pressure to compet with people who has different anoting than him. We live ie such a competeive world, everybody is tyrign to be somedy god never told us to be.

We have to be content. Bishop cant be TD Jakes. He cant be Joel olsteen. You got to be cool in your own skin. If you compare to others, you end up with purpose self esteemporblems. Why doesn’t mine show he suces as theres. We have to be fine where we are. Do what god called you to do and be content where you are.

Some of us don’t speak to no one broke.

Evaluae your priorites. Prov 23.4-5-priories. Do not work so much. Purpose makes a demand on everything in my life and says I have to get in order. When not in purpose, everything is out of order. If you only want to do this and god want us to do this, then we will all have a problem. How can we walk ogeher if we don’t agree. One way we know god wants you to be in our life is that you a par of this plan.

There was an inent. I didn’t know it, because we weren’t here. God bought our mom and dad together, because here was inent. We came through our mother, got in flesh and became a abby. HAD NO idea about our purpose. Wanted ot be all these thigns, but somebody kept speaking to us saying we wer awesome and smart. Thank god somebody spoke into our life. The alternative could have sent us doenw the road of devesatsion. We grevw and ineveiatbly we strayed away. Gods grace pulled us back in. we got into ministry and someobody spoke a word to us that got us on the right path. The devil tried to kil us, but wawsn’t able to. Now here we are in pruspose and now we experience unusal attacks. It is simply the devil trying to convince us we ar not where god want sus to be. We have to be steadfeast and unmovable, always bounding in the work of the lord. You r labor is not in vein. Evry attack you go through now, rememb rom 8.28 – … all things…tell your neighbor it will all work out if you just stay where god wants you to be.

Putting your life in order Part I

Synopsis of Bible Study 09/21/11

Delivered by Bishop Walker III

Many of us could go on to live more productive lives if we could just embrace this idea of proper alignment. What we mean by this is that there is so much clutter and so many things that get us off of our course. At the beginning of this discussion we are going to have first talk about getting the most out of life (purpose).

What is our purpose? How do we arrive at this purpose? This is so important. We have to first realize that God had an intent.

I. God had an intent

When God allowed us to be born, he had an intent.

Laying a foundation:

Any discussion about purpose is a discussion that originates with the word. It does not originate with somebody’s opinion or someone telling you statistically what you should or should not do.

Jeremiah 1:8 says 8Be not afraid of their faces, for I am with thee to deliver thee,” saith the LORD. -Don’t be afraid of the challenges or the faces that people make, because God says he will always deliver you.

He won’t need our words, because this is all God. He has set us. Don’t worry about sucking up to people or trying to get people to promote you. When you are in purpose, he will set us above nations and kingdoms. Promotions don’t come from the East or West. Promotion comes from the Lord.

ii. God says he doesn’t put us in place of power and authority for us just to sit back and be passive. There is an accountability and responsibility to being in the place of purpose.

Jeremiah 1:10 says 10See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms to root out and to pull down, and to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.”- You got to root out, throw down, build, and plant. God says he doesn’t raise us up to just be passive, get a check and go home. God says we have to make a difference when he puts us into places of elevation.

The whole process- Before God put us into our mother’s womb, he knew us. Whenyour mother met your father, God said there was an intent. He already knew what we were going to be.

You can really have a full and rewarding life. Most of us don’t recognize what God wants us to have.

Ask yourself:

Are you happy with your life?

The word will show us our purpose. His word is a light unto our feet and a light unto our pathway.

We need a sense of purpose and destiny. Proverbs 29:18 says 8Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.-

Vision only comes to people who make investments in purpose. God does not trust vision to people who don’t prepare. God is not going to let your vision manifest until you show some interest in preparing. This means to get sharp in the skill that God has called you to do.

How to manifest your purpose

Believe God has a plan for your life.

Look at your passions. Think about the things you have a passion for. What keeps you up at night? What motivates you. Psalm 37:4 says Delight thyself also in the LORD, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Look at your gifts and abilities. What has God equipped you to do? It is going to have little to be with your ability and more to do with your availability.

Look at your history or background. All of the things good and bad have played a role into what you have evolved into.

Ask what heart you have towards a particular group of things. What burdens you? Something you want to do real bad.

Is there something you always wanted to do, but didn’t have time to do it.

Find out if somebody else is doing it and then go and check them out. Collaborate. If a man’s catching fish down steam, find out what he is using. Some people are unsuccessful, because they don’t ask the advice of people that have done it. Find out who does it and does it well.

There are people that are incredibly busy, but empty. They are working every day, but empty. Ecclesiastes 2:10-11says10And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them; I withheld not my heart from any joy, for my heart rejoiced in all my labor, and this was my portion from all my labor. 11Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do; and behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. – We can say we did this or that, but we are still empty. We equate success with tangible items. There is a difference between being successful and significant. Significant is making an impact and leaving a foot print on the world. Are you just busy and never manifesting anything?

Motion- Just because you got activity, doesn’t mean you are moving anywhere.

When you lose sight of Gods purpose, your life can become worthless. You don’t want to live like that.

Learn the powe r of fingign contentment.

Contentment deals with this:

1 tim 6 – godliness with great content is great gain…-be content with the basics. We get to pint where we stat coveting. Ex-wealthy man , owned large farm, told about amazing dimaon s around world., he sold his worldy passions. End up dispointed. The man who bourght his farm, there was darmon right the in his back yar. He rean across the world trying to ge what was in his back yard. Wordk wyou got. Heb 13let your conduct be without convetousness… – stop fearing what man can do with you. This makes us miss purospse. You don’t’ know that hell somebody might be going through in a situation athat you think is success.

The key to significance is humility. Jame s 4.10-humble in sight of god… – humble yourself. You want to be blessed, stop walking around like you are god gif to the world. Two things god has to deal with in the making of a millionaraire.it is the man he is going to gain and man he is going to loose. Some of us are arrogant broke. Some of us don’t speak to no one broke.

Evaluae your priorites. Prov 23.4-5-priories. Do not work so much. Purpose makes a demand on everything in my life and says I have to get in order. When not in purpose, everything is out of order. We ry to convice ourself that we try ing to get caught up, but as a result, our family don’t know us, our children never see us, we are never home, never at baby’s reciteful, never tucking kids in, but we working. Purpse says everything that god is doing inmy life will push eveyrhtinginto proper alignments.

We never sacrifice our family on the altar of purpse . In prov 21.5-… this is why you cant neglect yoru family, if you loose eeryhign, your friends want be around. The only thing you will have around is family. Purpose has plans and plans lead to plenty. You have no idea how much we pray every person in this ministyr has enough to pay bills and be in surpliuse each month. Have money to invet in furue.

You got to plan strategicllay. Plans lead to this. You shouldneve rmove to hastely. Our purpose says, we got to plan. We got to have a strategy. God wants us to do all of this, so par of that plan or strategy, any one that come into our life, must understand this plan. If you only want to do this and god want us to do this, then we will all have a problem. How can we walk ogeher if we don’t agree. One way we know god wants you to be in our life is that you a par of this plan.

Don’t let your purpose caus e you to mess up your marragie. Your purpose is to go to school. This is not correct.

Don’t let your purpose caus e you to mess up your marragie. Your purpose is to go to school. This is not correct. Ou don’t put career on hold for somebody when you don’t have a ring. Have to have a plan.

How doe this person integreat with my family. I have to integreat our family in purpose so they don’t resent. We are supposed to have a plan around that. His is why the bible says seek you first. Kingdom of god is god way of doing things. We are not living purpose out, becuas you thingk this is what w eaought to be. We want to do it gods way.

There was an inent. I didn’t know it, because we weren’t here. God bought our mom and dad together, because here was inent. The circumstances of our birth was no accident. It was preordiained that we got here. No matter which parent is not in our life, they did their job of getting us here.
