Killer Sex Part IV
How to stay Holy when you are horny“
Bible Study 04/22/09
Delivered by Bishop Walker III
Today we explore the issue of “How to stay holy when you are horny”. There is this tension in all of us when we are saved. Although it might sound odd, it is just a reality. Some try to pretend that they don’t have these thoughts, because they are saved, but for the most part, this is not true. How do you reconcile this issue of being horny? The truth is this is real stuff and the church needs to talk about it.
8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. 9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: 10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 35:8-10 (KJV)-Where is this place, this scripture is talking about? Is it a physical place? No it is a spiritual place. How do we arrive at this place called holiness? The true way to deal with this is to adapt to a lifestyle of holiness. In the past, many people tried to achieve holiness through clothing, for example long skirts, women not wearing pants, no makeup, no jewelry and etc… The problem with this was despite what people wore or didn’t wear, people still ended up pregnant, drunk, and on drugs. It was obvious that this was not the key to holiness.
It is important to know what holiness means. Holiness is tied to sanctification which means to be separated or set apart unto God. Birds of a feather flock together so naturally a person trying to achieve holiness would not hang around with crowds of people that are not trying to live Holy.
God knows that we do not often have the power to separate ourselves from things. 26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. Lev 20:26 (KJV)-God severed some relationships on purpose, because they would be unfruitful for you. We don’t have the power to sever these relationships on our own, because we are emotional and loyal. Some people are still kicking and screaming over people God severed out of their lives, but they should be rejoicing over this. These things that God removed were hindrances to where God was taking them. There are some people you can’t simple be in relationship with when you are trying to live for God.
God severs us of:
1. Our possessions: God separates our possessions. 14 And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 15 And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be his. Lev 27:14-15 (KJV)-In the Old Testament we find that whenever what priest would sanctify would be valued more. You could have an expensive house, but it could be cheap as it relates to a house of equal value that had been sanctified. Just like this, everything that comes into our hands, we must bless or sanctify. We have to ask God to bless everything we posses so that spirits do not try and take it over. On your job, bless your space and any money you make you need to bless. There are spirits out there looking for access.
2. Our place: 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 2 Chron 7:16 (KJV)-God establishes the places that he wants you to dwell. God wants you to be where he is. God wants you to be in his will. When you understand holiness, you understand that God wants you to be around the right people and in the right place. We have to ask God to bless where we go and the money that comes into our hands. If Satan can get you around the right people, he knows that he can get you to spend the money you made in the wrong places for the wrong reasons.
• Sanctification is not only being separated from sin, it is being separated from the world. Sanctification is not a denomination as some people think. It is part of the process of salvation. 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 5:1 (KJV). God is everyday saving us from things that hinder us from being close to him.
• When we are burdened and oppressed, you are vulnerable to sin 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Heb 12:1 (KJV)-in past sermons, we tied sin and weight together as one thing. We identified it as that which has burdened or oppressed us. When we are burdened and oppressed, you are vulnerable to sin. When you are burdened down, you need something to hook you up. You are looking for something to minister to you, but Satan that only builds you up temporary.
• Jesus tells us to bring our burdens to him and he will give us rest. Whatever is burdening us down, God says bring to him and he will give you what you need without exploiting you (unlike Satan). We not only need to lay aside the weight, we need to be freed of the behavior the weight caused.
• Since God is Holy, this should be our aim also. 7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. Lev 20:7 (KJV) -We must understand that without holiness we can’t see God. 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Heb 12:14 (KJV) –Without holiness, we can’t see the Lord. If God is Holy, we must be holy when we come to him. The closer we get to God, the clearer we become. The Enemy is trying to pull us away from God. All of us have challenges in our flesh. Sometimes we struggle within ourselves, because we don’t understand why despite how good we try to be, we still have sexual issues. Ex-Let’s just assume that everyone reading this deep down in their heart wants to be a Christian. Assuming that this is right we can bet that you still get horny despite your desire to be a good Christian. If you are not horny ever, we are concerned about you, because this is something that is natural. Knowing this, the question becomes, “How do we manage it?” Remember being horny is not the sin. Acting on it is.
Do you know one of the most vulnerable moments you will have is right after church?
• We worship God, but it is the most vulnerable thing you do. When you worship, you step outside of your flesh. When you worship, your spirit abandons your flesh. If it is just a worship experience for you, then you will fall back into your flesh when the worship is over. A true worshipper doesn’t do this. Because your flesh is neglected during worship, your flesh is hyper needy. Ex-Remember when Jesus was baptized (a great event), he was led to the garden to fast. After his body had been neglected from the fast, Satan came in to tempt Jesus. When we get back in the flesh, we have to get back living in the spirit. We have to keep crucifying our flesh daily so this can be achieved. It is more than a worship experience. It should be a worship lifestyle
• The plot of sin is to get us further away from God. 1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2 (KJV) -not that God is not there, your iniquities cause distance between you and God. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Eph 5:5 (KJV).
• When you got saved, you signed up for sanctification. 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 2 Thess 2:13 (KJV) -there is no salvation without sanctification. Ex-You get saved, but you don’t yield to process of sanctification. You think rejoining the church 50 times will do it. Sanctification is an eternal reality. Whatever is in us, we have to ask the Lord to take it out. We open ourselves up to Devine Scrutiny.
• Our vessel must be clean. 20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.Isaiah 66:20 (KJV) -We are talking about what we offer to God, for example our gifts, our talents, and our worship. It must be bought in clean vessels. Ex-If we lick the rim of a cup and we offer to someone, they would not drink from the glass. Nothing is wrong with water inside, but there is a vessel problem. People will not receive what is in the vessel, because the vessel is tainted. With the water symbolizing blessings, we must know that blessings are hindered because of the mess found on some people’s vessel. People don’t look for perfection, but they want to see people that are at least a trying as carriers of their blessings. The thing that makes us tainted is our habits or being repeat offenders. 4 For it is impossible to restore to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— 6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people to repentance again because they are nailing the Son of God to the cross again by rejecting him, holding him up to public shame. Heb 6:4-6 (NLT) – We keep becoming repeat offenders, making it hard for others to repent.
If we know we have struggles in the flesh, and we desire holiness, how do we achieve holiness? After all, we are not wired to be holy. By nature we were naughty.
• It is the work of the Holy Spirit. You can’t do it cognitively or in your head. You can’t mentally overcome everything, because you can be talked out of stuff in your head. Ex-Bishop explains that he hasn’t had dessert in about 2 yrs. He explains that while trying to refrain from what he felt was harmful, people have tried to push him into the temptation of eating desserts. He admits that though he tries to stay strong, there are times the mind tries to play tricks on him. For example, “As hard as you worked, you deserve it” or “One scoop is not going to hurt you”. It is the power of the Holy Ghost that sustains you. The Holy Ghost brings back to memory what you have been taught. He is there to help us.
• Through chastening us-God can get us to holiness by whipping us. 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Heb 12:10-11 (KJV) -No one is joyous through a spanking, but afterwards it produces righteousness. Righteousness is exercised by those that got whippings. God sometime whips us to prevent us from walking outside holiness. Ex-When we were kids, sometimes we got the privilege of watching others get whipped for something we should have gotten whipped for. Sometimes God will allow you to see others get whipped. After seeing this, why would you do something that God whipped another person for? God will let you see what should have happened to you. God chastens us because he loves us, but the whole time we are being whipped; his hands are still on us.
• By the word of God. 9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Psalms 119:9 (KJV) -How can someone get their life together? By taking heed to God’s word. God sent his word, because it is his word that shuts you down. God’s word will convict you sometimes before you do what you are planning to do. All you got to do is take head of this word. Obedience is better than sacrifice. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. John 15:3 (KJV)-You are made whole or purified by the word. God talks about the word in portion of the Bible by using milk and meet as symbols. If we use this same analogy, when we get full of word, we won’t want to be filled by something else.
• By faith. 24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. Acts 11:24 (KJV)
• By prayer. 12 And may the Lord make your love grow and overflow to each other and to everyone else, just as our love overflows toward you. 13 As a result, Christ will make your hearts strong, blameless, and holy when you stand before God our Father on that day when our Lord Jesus comes with all those who belong to him. 1 Thess 3:12-13 (NLT)-We must pray for humility and the ability to make right decision.
• Heat of struggle. Paul says that the things he don’t want to, he keeps doing. In other words, we try to do right and we keep slipping up. In all of our lives, there is a struggle going on. It is a struggle between the flesh and spirit. The more you neglect your flesh, the louder your flesh will holler.
You got to recognize these 5 things to put things in perspective
• Know your purpose- 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Phil 1:5-6 (KJV) -God dropped something in you. God is not going to let you mess up that deposit. He will keep reminding you that he put it there. Isn’t it amazing when you do something and that small voice inside you tells you that you know better? This is why we try to hide our church peripheral when we are doing wrong. We try to shut that voice up, but it doesn’t work. You end up with God pulling you back continuously.
• Put your past in perspective- 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13-14 (KJV)-Stop beating yourself up over mistakes made in your past. Everybody has some skeletons of some kind in their closet. Let it go, don’t hold yourself hostage. 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1 (KJV) – You can’t go to your destination by holding on to the past.
• You might experience some pain. Why did God allow us to get hurt? Our hurt was about creating dependence on God. He wanted to develop us to know where to go when we are hurting. 6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 2 Cor 12:6-8 (KJV) -God says whenever he allows pain, you have a choice. You can allow it to get exploited or allow his grace to sustain you. God wants us to choose to draw close to him. 7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Job 14:7 (KJV-Even though we made some mistakes, we have some roots. This is what makes us come back. There is more to us than can be seen. Who we really are is like roots, buried into the earth.
• There will be some Purging- 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalms 51:7 (KJV) -We want to be purified.
• God will purify us. 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14 (KJV) – we are suppose to be different and excited by doing good works.
In closing
We are horny, but we are supposed to be holy. How do we deal with this? How do we get this out of us? Imagine that there is a towel. This towel has purpose. This towel will do what it was designed to do. If the towel is dirty, we won’t use it. This is what our life is like. We have been in some low places, kicked around, stepped on, and passed around by people that didn’t know our purpose. Instead of wiping their face with us (representative of our purpose) they whipped something else with us. We got dirty and stained. Now we are just over here alone. We are at the altar and everybody says, ‘ewwhh what you going do with that?” We ask the lord the same thing. What can he possibly do with us?” How do we get these stains out of us? We would like for it to be instantaneous change. We won’t to be made whole quickly. One thing is for sure, we have to realize that it took years for these stains to get on us. We can’t settle for looking good from a distance, we want the real thing. We want our spirit man to be greater than our issue. We ask God to help us, but know that removing the stains ain’t going to feel good. God has to cause some friction, pain, and tumbling and more friction. There is more friction allowed and as a result, more things fall off. There are people in your life that meant you no good, but hung on. The friction, was so they would fall off. God fixed it so you wouldn’t be able to give anymore and so others fell off. When you get done, you will thank God for the journey. The good thing about it is when he is done; there will be no evidence of what you have gone through. You are so close to a miracle, all you have to do is look at your neighbor to see how close you are. They have been passed around and abused, but look at them. You can’t even tell. If it is your desire to be purified and it is in your heart, God can do it.

Breaking the spirit of pornography and sexual addiction
Delivered by Bishop Walker
Pornography can create unhealthy relationships. Research shows 40% – 50% of rapists use porn to arouse themselves before they attack. Statistically pornography is an 8 billion dollar a year business. Statistics show that 17.5 million Web surfers visit porn sites per month. Last year, Web surfers spent 970 million dollars accessing porn sites. About 70% of porn ends up in the hands of minors. 1.12 million children each year are exploited in child pornography.
These were a few statistics, but the truth is, pornography, is a serious issue. It is important that research is brought to you so you can see how serious this issue can be. There are two ways that people look at addiction. Science says addiction is a disease of the brain. They have medicine now that is s supposed to bring down the desire of a person’s addiction. There are some people that think addiction is simply a lack of discipline. Spiritually we must know no matter what you think is right between the two, it ends up still a battle that starts in the mind. The mind is the battle ground that all of our issues start from. This happens to be Satan’s favorite place to launch his attack.
There is something about that look that you gave someone that is bad as the act itself. 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matt 5:28 (KJV).
We are not intentional about putting evil into our lives. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. Psalms 101:3 (KJV). When you intentionally set something in your view, it creates a problem.
Pornography comes from the Greek word porneia. This word is translated as fornication in the King James Version of the Bible. Porneuo which is the verb form of this same word refers to the act of committing fornication. The word Porne is translated as harlot. This simply implies that you can’t have porn without a whore or harlot being involved. Whore in its use can be applied to the male gender as well as the female gender. In order to have pornography, the whore must be the star. The whore then seduces you to become a whore also. One scripture tells us that being a whoremonger can cause us to miss heave. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Eph 5:5 (KJV). Some more supporting scriptures are as follows: 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; 1 Tim 1:10 (KJV), 4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Heb 13:4 (KJV), 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Rev 21:8 (KJV),
Many lustful sins take place in dark the dark or in secret, but nothing is hidden from God. After all of the hiding you have done, remember God saw it. 13 Nothing in all creation can hide from him. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes. This is the God to whom we must explain all that we have done Heb 4:13 (NLT)-God sees it all.
The sin of pornography will eventually lead to you getting caught. 23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. Num 32:23 (KJV). Adultery and pornography will get you caught. You can’t hide it.
What does pornography do us?
1. Makes you minimize your vessel. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Cor 6:17-18 (KJV) -pornography makes one sin against its own body. We think we are taking when we deal with pornography, be actually we are really withdrawing from ourselves. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s 1 Cor 6:19-20 (KJV).
2. Your body doesn’t belong to you. Your body belongs to God. Pornography causes your flesh to want to do its own thing. The Holy Spirit in you tries to stop you, but your flesh wants to turn the Holy Ghost in you off. You can’t give the Holy Ghost a recess. The Holy Ghost is great in you, much greater than the world.
What’s wrong with looking
1. Saw is a word we must examine. The issue is not what we see, but what we saw. When we see something, we see it and it’s gone or forgotten. When we saw something, it means what we saw stayed on our mind. We are still recalling it. Now we hope that what we saw shows up again. Ex-You saw somebody last week and now you hope that they come back again this week. Whatever occupies mental space is what we consider “saw”. In the saw state, we have to realize that the thing we saw impacted us and has taken on mental space in our mind. Genesis 34:2 -After he laid his eyes on her, he saw and then he acted.
2. David ended up sleeping with a married woman and had children with her, because of what he saw. 2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. 3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? 4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. 5 And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child. 2 Sam 11:2-5 (KJV)
3. When a victim doesn’t get help, they become a Villain. 15 When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face. 16 And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me? Gen 38:15-16 (KJV)
4. Samson loved whores. 1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her. Judges 16:1 (KJV)
a. We know this because Samson admitted that the woman he met satisfied his condition. 2 And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. 3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. Judges 14:2-3 (KJV)
Power of image
1. The eye gate takes the picture, but it is developed on the mind. Judges 14:2-3 (KJV). The enemy creates fantasies, and then you have to distinguish it from fantasy to reality. Then you start moving pornography into the reality. There are people that are having sexual relationships with you that you haven’t even met. People have imaginations and the eye and the mind is where it begins. Ex-There is a woman that is a wife and her husband is at the computer getting their head full of images with porn for example. Now he needs the wife to do what he sees this image doing. The wife tries to accommodate her husband’s request, because in a marriage the bed is not defiled. Anything goes as long as both agree and it does not bring any kind of harm to the other person. Now a problem has arisen. The wife has found that it is hard to compete with a whore (in the porn). This is another reason why you should why we need to converse about each other’s likes and dislikes, before marriage. Now the husband goes back over to the image and then returns to his wife. As a result, the husband is having relationship with the wife, but not really, because the image in his head is giving him desires that his wife can’t realistically meet. She can’t meet these expectations, because this is not who she is. Now the relationship has gotten desensitized and as a result they are growing apart instead of growing together.
2. What are we going to do when we have this issue caused by porn? Most people end up masturbating. What pornography wants you to do is masturbate or fornicate. Your image will not stay in your mind. It is too big a spirit. It will want to get out. Ex-There has been a common debate among Pastors. The debate is this. Is masturbation wrong? Think about it. We are taught they we are not supposed to fornicate, but we still have these images in our head that cause us to want to have sex. What do we do if we can’t fornicate? The fact of the matter is this; the only way to masturbate is you have to have an image. When you masturbate and you have an image, the image is a problem. There is a scripture that helps us with this issue; 9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. 10 And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also. Gen 38:9-10 (KJV) -We don’t know if you will go to hell for masturbating, but we do know the guy in the scripture died from allowing his seed to spill on the ground. What do you think about this issue now?
10 principles to follow to avoid pornography and sex addictions
1. Acknowledge that addiction exists. 13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Prov 28:13 (KJV)
2. Know that God will help you
3. Recognize that what you are doing is wrong. (Don’t try to justify it). 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:16-17 (KJV)
4. Don’t blame others. (Ex- “If my wife did this more, I wouldn’t do that…”) 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. Gen 3:12 (KJV)
5. Make yourself accountable to spiritual authority. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 (KJV)
6. Recognize that will power is not the answer. 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, Jude 1:24 (KJV)
7. Study God’s word on sexual maturity and destroy all pornography in your house. 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. James 1:24 (KJV). -You got to get that pornography out of your house. It is hard to study God’s word if you have these spirits in your house.
8. Learn to flee temptation. 14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. Prov 4:14-15 (KJV). -Ex-There was this athlete recently that was explaining the subject,” addictions in athletes”. He explained how his teammates unknowingly enabled him in his addiction. You have to know that there are some things you can’t be around.
9. Give yourself time to work through the process of recovery. This is a marathon not a sprint. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Phil 2:12 (KJV). . The truth is 95% of people would be good Christians if it wasn’t for the issue of sex. 10. Got to be determined to get deliverance.
7 steps process of deliverance
1. Faith in practice. 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:22-23 (KJV), 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:20 (KJV) -if you have faith with no practice, it will not work. We believe you can lay hands on people and they can be healed, but you need to be willing to get counseling too. We have to realize that people want a quick fix and are not willing to put in the work it takes to get delivered these days. We have to put our faith in practice.
2. Fasting and prayer- 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:29 (KJV) -Although people have come up with different forms of fasting, the real form is really fasting from food. When you fast from food, you put your body into subjection. When you fast from food, you are saying though you feel like you can’t make it, you know the Spirit of God will sustain you. Through fasting, you are teaching your body to come under subjection. When you abstain (from food), so you can sustain (as a result of relying on God), you hear from God like never before.
3. Fellowship with the right people. 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Cor 6:14 (KJV). You got to change your crowd.
4. Forgive your past. There are things from your past that have caused you to act out in many ways. You have to learn to forgive those people who caused these issues from your past. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matt 5:44 (KJV) – If you don’t deal with your past, you won’t obtain deliverance.
5. Focus on the path. 1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 Cor 4:1 (KJV) -, 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Heb 12:1 (KJV) -If we focus on the path, we are focusing on our assignment.
6. Be fruitful in your purpose. 16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 1 Tim 1:16 (KJV) -Stay busy. The busier you stay, the less time you have to deal with have for foolishness. Some people will tell you that staying busy will sometimes keep you out of a mess.
7. Fight for the promise. 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:4 (KJV) – God spoke an abundance of things in our lives. The devil is trying to change the channel on this. Ex- It is like watching a good movie and all of a sudden somebody comes in and changes the channel. You might say, “I was watching that!” Satan is hoping that you will change your mind once you see the channel he wants you to see.
All this is nothing but spiritual warfare. It is a fight for your future, mind, family, etc… Your generational curse can end now if you fight. 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Cor 10:4-5 (KJV). It can end now, but it takes the willingness to confront your issue.

Killer Sex Part I
“Sprit of Lust”
Bible Study 04/02/09
Delivered by Bishop Walker
Our focus in this series will be to explore how dysfunctional sexual relationships can destroy our destiny. We will be putting it into perspective of how we struggle with this issue as Christians. Please not that this series will be real and upfront and will not resemble what is traditionally taught in the church.
Today we will be dealing with the spirit of lust. Despite your struggles against impure thoughts, how fervent you are in prayer, or despite your ability to rebuke the devil, don’t think it strange that you still struggle with lust. In fact it can be quite discouraging dealing with this issue. Many people wonder within themselves how you get this issue under control. We are talking to the real people tonight that find themselves struggling with this issue of lust.
II Samuel 13 (read this text)
Amnon is the son of King David. Amnon has this lust spirit and it is so out of control, he sets his eyes on his sister in a way that would be considered inappropriate. You don’t hear this subject being preached much, these days, but it is in the text. Amnon manipulates a situation and forcefully rapes his sister when she comes in to take care of him. Her name is Tamar. Tamar and Amnon’s brother Absalom found out about this act and is totally upset and plots to kill Amnon. Translation: Here is a brother whose lust is so out of control. He imposes his issue of lust upon his sister. Now all their relationships will be messed up because Amnon let his lust issue get out of control.
You must remember the following.
1. You are not alone
2. 2. God loves you.
3. You cannot overcome this by yourself.
4. God has a plan for your victory.
What is lust? It is an inappropriate desire or obsession to enjoy something that is not rightfully or appropriately yours to enjoy. It is often attracted to that which is considered out of bounds. It operates in sin.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Romans 6:12 (KJV) -reign means control. Don’t let sin control you. Sin is the manifestation for what the lust does. Now you are being led by lust.
The sin is not in looking. There is nothing wrong with looking but when it moves to lust then you have a problem. Lust leads to sin. 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matt 5:28 (KJV)
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:15-17 (KJV). If you think about it, your favorite video, or your favorite audio track, or your favorite realty show is probably referred to in verse 16. The world uses lust to gain our interest. This is however temporary, but love of God is forever.
I. The source of Lust:
a. Temptation doesn’t come from God. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: James 1:13 (KJV)
b. Sin separates us from God. 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:14-15 (KJV)- once you start operating in sin, you start moving away from everything that reminds you of where you are supposed to be, mainly God. Now everything you do is about feeding the flesh, and not your Spirit Man inside you. Now your flesh has become stronger than the Spirit Man. Satan draws you away from God with what is already in you. Ex-Bishop Walker explains that if there were four body builders down standing at the front of the church with muscles shirts on, it would bother some women. He explains to us that it would not bother him, because this is not his issue, but some women might tell Bishop they couldn’t handle that distraction. Because this is not an issue for Bishop, Satan would not use them to tempt him. Satan knows how to tempt you where you are. He wouldn’t tempt us with crack, if crack is not our issue. The devil only entices you with what’s already in you. Once he entices you are drawn away. You can also be enticed by your curiosity. Curiosity occupies mental space. Once this space is occupied, then you create fantasies and relationships with people in your spirit and in your head that you haven’t even met yet. As a result you will wait for the right time and place to make those fantasies a reality. This is where the lust originally conceives and once it conceives it brings forth death because nothing good can come from it. Death will come in different forms such as death of relationships and friendships. In Christ you are hidden from all of that, because of his protection. The further you get from God, the closer you get to death, because the wages of sin is death.
c. You need Christ, because you flesh is a mess. 1 Once you were dead, doomed forever because of your many sins. 2 You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3 All of us used to live that way, following the passions and desires of our evil nature. We were born with an evil nature, and we were under God’s anger just like everyone else. Eph 2:1-3 (NLT)
II. Look at the lust of flesh
6 The woman was convinced. The fruit looked so fresh and delicious, and it would make her so wise! So she ate some of the fruit. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her. Then he ate it, too. Gen 3:6 (NLT).
Problems with lust
a. Look at this Lust of flesh-Eve saw that tree was good for food. What were the rules of the garden? What was the significance of not touching the tree? It is like the thinks we know we ought not to have is more enticing, but more available to us. Ex- Somebody puts up a trespass sign up and we want to go over there any way, because we wonder what they are being so secretive about. The devil came in trying to convince Eve that the fruit wasn’t harmful as she believed. This next sentence, you need to think of in terms of lust when you read it. When you are hungry, you will eat anything in reach. There were other trees in the garden, but Eve was hungry. When you are hungry you will satisfy your hungry even if it means breaking rules. When you got an itch you will eventually scratch it. When you hot, and it has been a while, you justify your act by saying you were hungry. Eve saw that the fruit was good for food and she took it. Ex-Men typically go after an apple (referring to particular type of woman). One bite and you get straight to the core. Some people it doesn’t take much work to get to the core. The only problem is you don’t know what worms are in the core and whose hands have been on it. An orange (referring to another type of woman) is different. It has a natural protective layer. You have to take your time and peel it to get to the fruit.
b. The next thing Eve experienced was lust of the eyes- The fruit was a delight to the eyes. It is the stuff that looks good to you that compromises your integrity. It can be the right swagger or education we are all over it. This is about something that is powerful enough to cause you to take your eyes off of Jesus.
c. She experienced a boastful pride for life-Eve thought the fruit would make her wise. In other words, if you get this person you desire, it will affirm you. It becomes like a trophy or a star in your black book. This is how lust works. It makes you think you are getting something you are not getting. Looking again at Genesis 3:6, Eve convinced herself that she was so hungry she got a piece. As a result, she even tainted her relationship with her own husband. He had no backbone, and Adam ate the fruit too. As a result they lost the whole garden over a piece. God set them up for life, and they destroyed it over a piece. Think about losing all you have over a piece.
d. Lust has a ritual. Lust will build around its expression in your life. You will find yourself building your vacation around your lust. When you approach the city, you think about what lustful things you can get in. You will do business with particular clients that you can act on your lusts with. Ex- David was on the roof, when the Kings went to war. David was out of place. Notice the Devil gets us when we are where we are not supposed to be. Sometimes we are where we are not supposed to be, but have no attention of sinning. David accidently saw Bathsheba because she wasn’t where she was supposed to be either. He kept coming back though to take a peek. Sin keeps you playing longer than you want to play, staying longer than you want to stay, and paying more than you want to pay.
III. The deceptions of lust
a. Lust will tell you that it will satisfy you. It may feel like it satisfied you, but if you are really saved, sin will weigh you down. That guilt you have is sin, the yoke. It will burden you down.
b. Secondly, Sin will tell you that you will be satisfied. Ex-This will be the last time your sin partner may say. The truth is you will never be satisfied. Sin promises what it won’t deliver and delvers what it will never confess.
God’s solution to your lust problems
Jacob loved Joseph his son so much that his brothers hated him. They hated him so much; they put him in a pit to die. They ended up selling him into slavery. Joseph ends up in power of the land of Egypt. He finds favor with Potiphar who is just under the Pharaoh.
Joseph shows up in Egypt as the new kid on the block. When you are new, you become the one with the bull’s eye on your back. Joseph found himself in the house in a vulnerable situation, but he was faithful and he made the choice to remain that way.
1. Joseph chose to keep himself clean. 7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. Gen 39:7 (KJV) – Notice, right after Joseph’s promotion, his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph. She asks him to sleep with her.
2. Integrity before pleasure. 8 But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; 9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Gen 39:8-9 (KJV). Joseph was not willing to comprise his integrity for a moment of sexual pleasure.
3. Joseph set ministry before his enjoyment. You have to place value in your position with God.
4. Chose to be consistently clean. 10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. Gen 39:10 (KJV) – .If the devil can’t get at you one way, he will change his tactics.
5. You have to know when you are being set up. 11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. Gen 39:11 (KJV). Potiphar’s wife wanted to get with Joseph and she made sure no one was there. It’s one thing to say no when someone is there, but another when no one is around. Ex-Bishop Walker explains that a great mentor of his once told him some great advice. He said the mentor told him to treat everything like a set up.
6. Don’t minimize the level of temptation. 12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out. Gen 39:12 (KJV). Egyptian women are some of the most beautiful women in the world. Joseph’s great- great- grandfather had a wife that was barren (Sarah). Abraham didn’t protest but went right on in to his maiden when she was offered to him. As we look at verse 11 & 12 of Genesis again, we cannot underestimate the severity of the situation that Joseph was in. It is one thing to say no when people are there, but what about when no one is around. Potiphar’s wife caught Joseph by what he had on which was just a robe. This was his last line of defense. Imagine, no one was home and nothing was under the robe and Potiphar’s wife had this garment in her hand. The scripture says, Joseph left his garment behind and ran. This means he probably ran down the street naked. We should learn from this that even if you have to leave stuff behind that means something to you, you must run away from this sin. You have to know within yourself when it is time to run.
7 steps to victory:
1. Acknowledge that you have problem with lust. 3 When I refused to confess my sin, I was weak and miserable, and I groaned all day long. Psalms 32:3 (NLT) – When you have a secret it eats away at you physiologically, spiritually, economically.
2. Break your silence. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 (KJV) – Now the scripture says confess your faults, not sins. Sin is the end result of what your fault was. Example: Lust was the fault; sin was a result of that fault. You don’t need to confess your sin to others, because they can’t forgive the sin. You confess your faults simply to find someone that can pray with you. Example 2: “I am going to Los Vegas and I have a problem with lusting. I need you to pray for me while I am gone. Check on my from time to time and call me and pray with me every night before I go to bed.”
3. Make a covenant with your eyes.1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? Job 31:1 (KJV)-In other words, why should Job give himself to a virgin? The eye gate is where lust first starts. First we see it, then a thought is created, and then we create a fantasy in the mind. Eventually we want to act out that fantasy. If we see things in an appropriate way, then the inappropriate thoughts will not materialize.
4. Stop feeding the dog or the monster. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Romans 13:14 (KJV)-Don’t give room to the devil. Ex-People see you in a book store reading an Ebony magazine, yet you have a lot of porn magazines inside that magazine. We can’t get from lust, if we keep feeding it.
5. Renew your mind. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2 (KJV)-If your mind is not right, you look at issues, the way the world looks at issues. Lust tries to humanize people so that they become objects. You have to have the mind of Christ at all times.
6. Walk in the Spirit. Gal 5:116 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:16 (KJV). Walking in the Spirit will lessen your desire to want to do sinful things.
6-The Holy Spirit is there to guide you. Listen to that small voice that tries to prevent you from doing wrong. Things often don’t feel right, because of the Holy Spirit inside you. This is your eternal warning system.
7. Focus on your future. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13-14 (KJV) – Bishop explains he doesn’t have it all together, but like Paul he is not going to be held hostage, by the things of his past.
When you see what is before you, it is your destination. This is where you are supposed to end up. Where do you see yourself ending up? Anything that compromises, or that prevents you from your destination, or retards the process of you getting to your destination, has to be viewed as a threat to your destiny. Bishop explains that he travels a lot and when you get to the airport, you never know what you are going to get. Sometimes they may have changed the color that indicates the level of security that you may be under due to terrorist threats. Because of 9/11, they have different levels of heightened security indicated by color. When it is at a certain level like orange for instance, you may not be able to park in certain places that you used to park or you may not be able to bring your bottled with you on the plain. They know that you are inconvenienced and they are sympathetic to how you feel, but the thing is they have a heightened since of security, because they don’t want a terrorist getting on a plane preventing people from getting to their destination. They have to see what is in the bag; they have to check you out and everything.
We have to live our life the same way. We have to say excuse me if this getting to you, but I have a heightened sense of security. I know you waiting for me to call you back, but I got to check you out. I am going to check and see if you have on the whole armor of God. I know it may be frustrating that we hadn’t gone out yet, but you can’t come here yet. I don’t want a terrorist to stop me from getting to my destination. When I see where God is taking me, I can’t take any chances just because you got a good game, or fine, or cute. I am thinking about my destiny.
